Yes, the media hyped this like the vultures they are. However, I think many of us were surprised there were not more protestors and chaos at the convention. I think those who funded these fauxtest realized it was backfiring.

Given the emotion going into the last month it appeared to be building even discounting the media narrative. I think the Cleveland police did a good job and they deserve credit, but I also think the sniper and ambush attacks on police, as well as the Jihadist attacks in Europe, took a lot of the emotion out of it for those with anarchist tendencies. It’s one thing to chant something stupid in a march, but it’s another to see it put into action.

The Clintons pandering to these groups has been ineffective because there are a sizable number of people - even in the inner cities - who are questioning things. It appears that the liberal ideology of group politics, seen as the future power base of the democratic party, is failing under its own weight (finally). The unions can’t support unchecked immigration and cheap labor or a radical environmental agenda that kills jobs. The LGBT community can’t support massive immigration from Muslim nations. A large number of people in the inner-city are turned off by attacks on the police and they want law and order (remember, they live there). Much of the African-American community does not support the LGBT agenda nor do they support immigration from Mexico because it hurts them the most. The radical left can’t help themselves.... they always think their time has come and they go too far, but their coalition of grievance groups looks like anything other than a melting pot right now.

Hillary does not connect with minority communities or the socialist left. That is the base. We hear a lot about Trump having problems with his base, but they are mild compared to her problems.

Trump’s tact towards populism, nationalism, trying something new, and law and order is winning. Hillary’s stale and tired tact of grievance politics, her questionable record and lack of achievement, and her pander bear routine combined with the stench of corruption surrounding her is killing her. The DNC insiders have to be in a full blown panic even if the media does not discuss it often.

Every election the media makes it look like the GOP nominee is owned by the wealthy. Who looks like they are tied to Goldman Sachs now? The “I’m with her” candidate or the independent “I am with you” candidate?

We may be in for a major surprise in November. The irony of this election so far is quite enjoyable.

"The LGBT community can’t support massive immigration from Muslim nations."

Salient observation. Orlando, such a tragedy.

In the long run, though, it reinforces well-established racist attitudes from white gays. The caste order in the LGBT community is astounding.

Trump may have problems with the GOPe's base, but he is creating a whole new base now. Hopefully it will be big enough to win the election in November.
