The First Lady, who was wearing a custom-made blue dress by US designer Christian Siriano, began the speech with a fun anecdote about her teenage daughters who arrived at the White House as children.
But the niceties soon morphed into a harsh criticism of the Republican nominee, as she declared her staunch backing for Hillary Clinton.
'This country is great,' she declared at one point, while firmly stating, 'I'm with her,' referring to Clinton.
Michelle's husband, President Barack Obama, was delighted with her words, tweeting: 'Incredible speech by an incredible woman. Couldn't be more proud & our country has been blessed to have her as FLOTUS. I love you, Michelle.'

Funny, in the last 30 days, Hillary Clinton, the Democrat nominee for President, implied that police are racists and that our criminal system is biased and corrupt.
In that same time period, various Democrats have claimed that the US causes most wars, most Climate Change, we are an evil people, we have spread diseases on purpose, we are a racist and bigoted country, we are xenophobic, etc... (do I need to continue)? Michelle, herself, was not proud of this country until her husband was elected President!!
So, which is it? Are we a great country? Or are we all these things you Democrats keep saying about us?!?
The US Government actually paid the slaves a normal days wages to work building the White House.
They did it intentionally because the Founding Fathers did not want the government based their ideals being built by slave labor.
At least some of the slaves used the money they earned from building the White House to buy their freedom.
Seems like validation of the American Dream to me.
