After Ailes’s Departure, a Stony Silence at Fox (Megyn Kelly)
The New York Times ^ | July 27, 2016 | MICHAEL M. GRYNBAUM and EMILY STEEL

PHILADELPHIA — The Fox News skybox here turns into a hive of activity as the network’s star anchors analyze the Democratic National Convention for millions of viewers.

When the cameras blink off, however, the banter has been replaced by something rarely heard in the television news business: silence.

Megyn Kelly and her co-hosts, including Bret Baier and Brit Hume, have not been speaking during commercial breaks, according to two people with direct knowledge of the anchors’ interactions, who described the on-set atmosphere at Fox News as icy. During ads, the hosts are often absorbed with their smartphones.

Even as Fox News goes about broadcasting as usual, scoring its highest convention ratings in 20 years, interviews this week with network employees show an organization grappling with internal division after the abrupt exit of Roger Ailes, the once-omnipotent chairman at the center of a sexual harassment investigation.

Nearly a dozen Fox News employees, who work in front of and behind the camera, were granted anonymity to speak candidly about highly sensitive matters inside a network where privacy is still prized.

The hosts’ on-set interactions have improved slightly since last week’s shows at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, which were broadcast immediately after Mr. Ailes’s departure.

I agree. Fox kept the Benghazi and the email stories alive. It has presented Israel’s. Jeannine Pirro and Greta have provided good reporting.

I guess the article meant that Fox ratings for the Dem convention is higher than in previous years, hence a record. I just checked Hollywood Reporter and see that Fox is getting half of CNN’s viewership this week.

Fox News is self destructing. Conservatives, basically, had nothing to do with that part. Truly sad to see a once great network go down the tubes so rapidly....all due to the loss of one small cork in the bottle.

There will be other networks, eventually, for conservatives. Ones actually run by conservatives or truly non-partisans.

Graham Ledger tears down the liberal leftist agenda every night.
Graham Ledger is not a Trump fan. He tries to hide it but it's there.

During the primaries, while Trump was kicking ass, he talked about how we need to elect a "constitutional conservative"...Gee, who could that be?

“FBN, especially with Lou Dobbs and Trish Regan, is all that’s left to watch on cable. “

Former MTV celeb Kennedy can be added to that short list.

DirecTV gave me live feeds of both conventions with no interruptions or talking head commentary. The only way to watch IMHO.

FBN, especially with Lou Dobbs and Trish Regan, is all that’s left to watch on cable. OANN isn’t widely available.”

I almost changed over to Dish to get OANN, but don’t want to sign another contract.

Lou Dobbs is good though. I love the way he unabashedly supports Donald.

[I just saw something that CNN beat out FOX on the RNC debates. I was surprised.]

I wasn’t surprised. The moderators (Tapper and Bash) on CNN were far less viciously biased that Faux News. Wallace and Kelly were tag teaming Trump, and Baier would through a jab in here and there.

Megyn is going to drag FOX into the cellar then bail out for MSNBC or CNN.

Roger Ailes is a great conservative

He realized that to make the ad money required to produce a conservative voice the network must be fair and balanced. He succeeded beyond all measures.

Many conservatives are so tightly and narrowly focused they can’t permit reality to intrude on their sanctimony.

When studying the media as the FRee Republic Media Chapter, we concluded that a puritanical conservative propaganda network was not economically feasible. The brilliant conservative Roger Ailes reached the same conclusion.

I just saw something that CNN beat out FOX on the RNC debates. I was surprised.

I wouldn't be surprised.

It seemed to me that CNN aired more of the actual convention than did FOX.

I was surfing because the talking heads on FOX just wouldn't shut up and let us hear the speeches.

But it seems like the last few days at the DNC convention they jabbered away less thsn at the RNC.

The Washington Post is continuing the meme of the day.

Megyn Kelly hangs out at CNN Grill, stoking speculation that she could leave Fox News

Curious, I was wondering if R’s switched over to watch the convention on CNN or were D’s tuning in to watch the debates.

I watched recaps of the them the following day (flipping my pre-recorded channels, but mostly FOX business and CNN to be honest), I go to bed rather early and wasn’t going to watch them live.

I would watch the FIVE if they would fire everyone but Kimberly and Eric and call it the TWO, lol, but I just can’t stand Gutfeld and Dana (wolves in sheeps clothing who are just concern trolls at this point). I even have more respect for Juan Williams (I liked Bob Beckel too) because you KNOW they are partisan hacks, but Dana and Gutfeld throw so much crap at Trump pretending they are just doing it for his sake... I can’t stand to see those idiots anymore, and to be honest from the morning Fox show, through Shep, and brett baier, and O’Reilly, they are just all like nails on a chalk board for me, same would be listening to Rachel Maddow or Chris Mathews. At least I can laugh at latter.

But like Beckel and Williams, I can actually take them, because I KNOW they are partisan hacks, not some faux conservatives spouting off what they think is best for the party (Rove makes me flip the channel as well). I get so mad because I know there are folks out there who tune in to every word these ass-hats say as the Republican gospel. Do they ever get anything right? Krauthammer too, I think he’s beginning to see the light from some of his recent articles, but Fox and the NeverTrumpers who are in disguise sicken me.
