After Ailes’s Departure, a Stony Silence at Fox (Megyn Kelly)
The New York Times ^ | July 27, 2016 | MICHAEL M. GRYNBAUM and EMILY STEEL

PHILADELPHIA — The Fox News skybox here turns into a hive of activity as the network’s star anchors analyze the Democratic National Convention for millions of viewers.

When the cameras blink off, however, the banter has been replaced by something rarely heard in the television news business: silence.

Megyn Kelly and her co-hosts, including Bret Baier and Brit Hume, have not been speaking during commercial breaks, according to two people with direct knowledge of the anchors’ interactions, who described the on-set atmosphere at Fox News as icy. During ads, the hosts are often absorbed with their smartphones.

Even as Fox News goes about broadcasting as usual, scoring its highest convention ratings in 20 years, interviews this week with network employees show an organization grappling with internal division after the abrupt exit of Roger Ailes, the once-omnipotent chairman at the center of a sexual harassment investigation.

Nearly a dozen Fox News employees, who work in front of and behind the camera, were granted anonymity to speak candidly about highly sensitive matters inside a network where privacy is still prized.

The hosts’ on-set interactions have improved slightly since last week’s shows at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, which were broadcast immediately after Mr. Ailes’s departure.

POLITICS | RATINGS
FNC Most-Watched Cabler for the Week During the RNC

By Chris Ariens on Jul. 26, 2016 - 2:24 PM13 Comments
FNCRNC
Last week the news networks did blockbuster ratings. How big? Well there are a few ways to break it down.

During the four days of the Republican National Convention, CNN had the most viewership reach overall for total day (6am-6am).

Total Day Live +Same Day viewing, July 18-21:
CNN: 44,754,000
Fox News: 41,519,000
MSNBC: 28,943,000

Meanwhile, Fox News Channel was the most-watched cable channel in prime time for the full 7-day week in both total viewers and in the A25-54 demo. The channel was also number one in total day viewing among total viewers and No. 2 in the A25-54 demo.

FNC was not only the most-watched for the full week, it saw the biggest lift in the younger demo, compared to the year-to-date average.

you may be right, I just did a Google and this came up:

http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2016/07/26/cable-weekly-top-25-july-18-24-2016/

I am not sure if this is a credible source, but it does indicate that I did in fact have the wrong information.

Yes to everything you said. Will add that MeAgain Kelly might be trying to destroy Fox before she jumps ship. Must be a huge payback in there for her somewhere from the Left

Sorry to tell you this but my conservativebeliefs predate the launch of Fox News by several decades and are more reliable and consistent than anything presented on that network.

"I won’t watch regular Fox anymore, but I really like just about everything on FOX business."

I won't watch Liz Clayman on FOX business. She's a flaming libtard.

I haven’t looked at her since the R debate, I won’t give her the time of day.

As the Italians say... “she’s dead to me”

But yeah, I reckon before the election you will see so many “conservatives” (that is now the code word for globalist), come out and denounce Trump and tell the world from the highest towers how they are supporting Hillary as the only “sensible” candidate.

George Will, and hell all of NRO, several FOX folks, Krauthammer probably, and who knows who else (Meghen Kelly probably and Guttfeld, for sure Dana), will be grabbing headlines in every newspaper and media outlet to get their 2 minutes of fame to tell how they are voting Hillary! and leaving the R party.

It will make the news cycle 24/7 for about 2 weeks.

Every station, every newspaper, every outlet possible will tell how these great “conservatives” (again remember the word conservative now means globalist) are ditching Trump and voting Hillary!

It’s a set up, and the Dems are banking on those who have been paid off.

I suspect these emails are going to reveal more than the usual suspects, they will shine light on some mold that no one knew was growing in the darkness.

yeah, I caught her a few times, so I will concur that one

I use the DVR and just record what I want, because I hate commercials, and she’s not on my list

Yeap give her 5 years and she will be co hosting the AKC dog shows with perky Couric on some obscure cable channel.

10 years she’ll be a toothless meth head turning tricks for a rock.

I did enjoy a recent slapdown from Brit Hume who “corrected” a statement made by George Will regarding a Newsweek poll. Poor George was made to look foolish and twisting facts to fit his hatred for Trump.

FWIW, the accusations make me wonder if all the Fox females had to go along with Ailes to get their jobs. That seemed to me to be the unaddressed item in every article written.

There were American conservatives before Fox News and there will be conservatives after Fox News wrecks itself.

"but absent fox, there would be no conservative political force in power at all"

I'm pretty sure the GOP takeover of Congress in 1994 occurred two or three years before FOX existed, so...no.
