With almost half the country getting government checks to stay alive, the Takers are outvoting the Makers. This will stop when there are too few Makers, because Socialism can buy Taker votes only until the Makers’ money runs out.
I’m better off, but it took a move from Illinois to Michigan and a career change to do it.
The big concern I do have is VOTER FRAUD this time around.
Yes, but worst rate of growth for net worth and actually reduced cash flow to sustain investment targets, due to increased taxes and fed/state/local government policies. So I’ve busted my tail to move up in salary, but it feels like I’ve broken even in overall picture.
Yesterday I passes a coin operated ice machine. The sign read: “Ice 20 pounds bulk $ 2.00”. When obama occupied the White House the same amount of ice was seventy-five cents.
I have never paid 75 cents for a 7 or 8lb. bag. Where do you live??
I agree to a point. I paid off all debt including mortgage during Bush years. Paid for 2 kids college including one with masters degree during Obama presidency. Daughter with BS went into military - will pin on Captain this fall.
Here is the to a point. I was laid off in 2010 with 4 other old guys in our office due to a direct action by Obama. Got a nice severance package for 47 years in my field - computer software engineering and development. Then took my pension and haven’t looked back. Took a hit on health care. I’m doing well, but I could be going much better without Obama. He killed off a major source of revenue, killed off a lot of job prospects, and raised the cost of living significantly with a health care system that sucks.
Technology is not industry?
Personally yes, our family income is as high now as its ever been. But it could easily be the other way too. I guess it depends on where and what your doing.
Plant City, Florida.
They are just probably 10x10 covered structures with an ice maker. They have an attendant that services 5 or 6 of them.
My guess is that something else boosted your price. 75 cents for 2lbs. is a great price, almost at the point where I could buy it and resell it in the Midwest.
Half of America right now sees this differently and we need to know if they may be talking about some things that are actually true.””
Yep, the old media still possesses a great deal of power. Between a corrupt old media and Homowood, they can convince at least half the population that that Africans murdering cops and homos in charge of little boys are morally acceptable. Both groups are always portrayed as brilliant.
I’m fine, but no thanks to 0bama. I had very good training as a young woman coming of age during the Carter years; those years, and watching my parents scramble to make ends meet, prepared me for anything my overlords could and would throw at me.
Just stick with the basic principles of investing (buy and hold, diversify), live BELOW your means no matter WHAT your income level, get an education, work your tail off and plan for the major life challenges that will eventually plague us all.
Believing in God and knowing that you WILL be taken care of by Him makes a huge difference in your life, too. Of course, He expects you to do your part, too! I have never missed a meal, or been without a roof over my head or clothing to wear. ;)
Just trying to figure out your starting-point. The U.S. manufacturing sector is back to its 2007-2008 level (before the crash), which was an all-time record. I do understand that we lost 8 years of growth.
I am in a similar situation, cut in 2014 with one year’s pay as severance. No pension, but plenty of money. I paid off my mortgage in 1996, and since then I saved 50% of my income.
Yes, not because of the Gang of 535 and the executive gang...in spite of them. More focused. Better prepared.
LOCK THEM UP!
Well, yeah, electricity went up. water went up, replacement parts for the ice makers probably went up. I was doing some woodworking when obama occupied the White House. The sandpaper I used costs a dollar and half at either Lowes or Home Depot. After obama occupied the White House I stopped doing it [woodworking]. The other day I needed some sandpaper and went to Lowes to buy some. That same sandpaper was over five dollars a pack.
And then. . . we get to live Mad Max: the Experience.
Coming Real Soon Now. . .
