Hillary Clinton devoted part of her speech Thursday night to guns, telling the Democrat National Convention, If were serious about keeping our country safe, we cant afford to have a president who's in the pocket of the gun lobby.
Im not here to repeal the Second Amendment. Im not here to take away your guns. I just dont want you to be shot by someone who shouldnt have a gun in the first place, Clinton said.
She once again called for common-sense reforms to keep guns out of the hands of criminals, terrorists and all other who would do us harm, but she did not offer specifics.

The Second Amendment won’t be outright appealed... They will try to slowly tighten the noose until the majority of people can’t own anything more lethal than bb guns.
The classic “boiling a frog in a pot” strategy.
No, she wants to hire another 100,000 ATF agents for that....
Gee, Hillary, I don't want people shot at all!
What does that tell you?
Dammit! That means she is there to take away our guns.
Correct, it will be like the typical European country where...on paper at least, a law abiding adult can own a gun, the process is just so onerous with approval based on the whim of the local magistrate and provisions like the gun has to be stored in a safe at a gun range and can not be taken from the gun range, kept in the home, or used for self defense. That (legally) owning a gun is so pointless the vast majority of citizens don't even bother.
Happy to. They won't literally be "hers," and the confiscation will be by attrition. Much of it will be by state and local police, who, in NJ, NY and California already confiscate personal firearms.
Once the 2nd amendment is conclusivly held to embody a government right and not an individual one, a federal law can be passed that first limits then prohibits ownership.
I figure the process takes two generations.
And none of that is technically by repeal of the second amendment. It will still be there in exactly the form it is today, but as a matter of law, will be held to not protect an individual right. This was the status of federal case law for decades, via judicial misrepresentation of Presser and Miller.
Hillary, the common scold in a pantsuit, is point man for restoring that.
Can I say the feeling IS NOT mutual? Or would that invite a visit from the Secret Service....
Pathetic.
Exactly.
One should keep in mind, the majority of the Democrat elites like Hillary seem to idolize the EU and in particular the more socialist Nordic countries, and they want the US to emulate them.
Republicans more favor a republic. Democrats favor a democracy, whereas they can use the press to convince the masses of a certain point of view, and then voting is essentially just a measure of how effective the propaganda was.
The Democrats actually don’t want Constitutional rights, which can’t be easily voted away.
Ah Hillary, true to form all right. Tell me b****, just who gets to determine who should and should not have a gun "in the first place?" I'm pretty sure I already know your answer Hillary - "The police, my family's security team, my brownshirts...and a few other donors who have been so helpful. (and generous in their "donations")" Sound about right Hillary?
Seems to me the Founding Fathers already covered that one (who could/should own firearms) with the 2nd Amendment.
Whenever I hear a libtard trying to sound reasonable on "gun control" or yaking about "common sense gun control" I know whatever follows is neither reasonable nor common-sense. It is just another incremental step towards their end goal of a disarmed populace.
You lib lurkers out there shaking your heads, thinking I'm a "gun nut" or some such... You think a few thousand homicides a year (note, I'm discounting suicides and gun deaths where it was justified) are bad? You want to ban all firearms? Consider the hundreds of thousands of murders, rapes, and violent assaults having firearms in our society prevents. Oh, never heard of that before? Yeah, that little detail seems to be omitted by your masters when they are selling the latest feel-good gun ban idea to you. Every year in the US firearms are used legally in defensive roles (often without firing a shot) to prevent millions of murders, rapes, and assaults. Without firearms, a large fraction of those would actually play out. How many of those do you want to put on your conscious for the warm-fuzzy feeling of being "gun free?" Oh, and when an emboldened government starts stripping away other freedoms and the ability to exercise rights, how many lives is it going to cost to eventually take back our liberty? No thanks, I'll fight not to go down that path.
“Im not here to take away your guns.”
HA! Don’t pretend that you could you loony old coot.
Poll-tested and Politico approved.
Never mind her incessant insistence to not equate Islam and terrorism.
“I’ll get someone else to do it for me...”
Well, that’s nice because she isn’t getting them.
