White Europeans didn't - and couldn't - even penetrate the interior of Africa. The first guy to do so was named Mungo Park, and he did it in 1795. A whole lot of slavery happened before that.

Great name, that. I wonder why nobody much names his son "Mungo" anymore...

Park and Foxwell were 2 intrepid explorers from GB, both direct ancestors, who penetrated darkest Africa in the mid 1800’s and earlier.
