Did the Chronicle endorse Romney or Obama the last time?
It endorsed Romney on October 21, 2012. What’s surprising here is the very early date for a general election endorsement.

They endorsed Romney because 80% of the their readers were going to vote for Romeny anyway - and they want to keep their readership.
And, as I noted elsewhere here, BECAUSE ROMNEY WINNING TEXAS WAS NOT AN ISSUE - he was going to win here, and it was not going to have any impact nationally.
But their endorsements are 100% DEMOCRAT in every close race involving conservatives, and sometimes Democrat in the not-so-close races.
Move the Chronicle Editorial Board to Ohio and Florida, and you will NEVER see a Republican endorsed for President.
The Chronicle (”Comical”) endorses only democRATs generally.
