Donald Trump said Saturday that he has “made a lot of sacrifices” by creating “tens of thousands of jobs”—his first response to the emotional Democratic convention speech by grieving Army father Khizr Khan, who told Trump he had “sacrificed nothing and no one.”
Sometimes it’s best just to ignore an insult.
Yes, it is. However, when you point this out many come along here and tell you differently. I have said it before and I will say it again now - Trump has to be disciplined. I have been called a “concern troll” for simply pointing out that Trump needs to be strategic about what he responds to and how he responds.
You can’t be a street fighter on everything and the left is going to unleash a tidal wave of attacks towards Trump in the next few months. They will be aided greatly by the media that will be ready to pounce on the slightest bad soundbite to define Trump. Hillary has shown part of her strategy. She is going to stay above it all and look Presidential (never to me) and let her supporters and the media snipe at Donald. If he lets this get under his skin and is undisciplined in his responses they will define him to the idiots who don’t pay attention and it won’t be flattering.
To those who say I am a concern troll - too bad. This election is about my kids - not Trump. I am fully on board, but I have heard enough people in my real world (not FR) say these snippets of brash Trump turn them off and his negatives will go higher if he tries to respond in kind. Trump did not exactly come off well in the childish debate banter we suffered through between him, Rubio, and Cruz. Many people on here pointed that out.
I know there are plenty of Trump supporters that see this. This is Presidential politics time - he needs to grow some teflon to the nickle and dime stuff and drop the reality television schtick. Any support he was going to gain up to this point by doing so is not flipping to Hillary. The base is pretty much set - it’s now down to the swing voters and mushy middle. These are the folks who will decide this election and giving a soundbite about Nanny Bloomberg of “I want to hit him” and responding to a booby trap like this with bad optics will cause him to lose the race.

This is of course all part of the dem strategy, stir up resentment as possible among Muslims, Hispanics and Blacks against whites to exploit their votes. The democrat party is the party of division, not the republican.

Actually, Trump watched the 911 Islamic attackers fly planes into the World Trade Center buildings, while he was in his suite in Trump Tower. He said he lost friends and business associates when those Islamic pieces of dog meat took the towers down.

Instead of being drawn into a conversation about himself and what he has sacrificed, Trump would be better advised to point out that while no one questions the willingness of Muslims to sacrifice even their own lives, too many of them are sacrificing in terrorist causes. He could also point out the sacrifices made by the families of those who have lost loved ones to Muslim terrorism in the US just this year, and ask why their sacrifices should not be considered.
I did the research and found that 3500 religion of peacers serve in our armed forces. Minute. OTH I’m following the night Of on HBO and understand how awful it might be if you do everything right and these friggin’ Jihadis make one look like one of them.

Not when its an unending pattern of abuse, and a political weapon wielded in the belief that the target cannot hit back. Trump is right to hit this damned moslem right back. The psychological blackmail of false civility must end.
since when can’t you return the favor to a guy who walks up onto the stage at a national convention in front of tens of millions of people and slams you as a person, American and patriot because his son was killed in a war Hillary voted for,, screw that guy
let’s not forget Hillary called the parents of the men (she left behind and were slaughtered) in Benghazi liars and the media pretty much defended her on it

I know a lot of them, including pop, fought in WWII. Nobody gave a second thought that Italy was one of the enemies.

I just don’t think it was a smart defense. It sounds so hollow as to reinforce simultaneously both the accuser’s claim and a couple of the negative stereotypes that have been drawn of Trump.
The next thing you know the left will have him on record sneering that “He loathes the military”
That mother and father were used by Hillary and Company. Trump cares much more for our fallen than Hillary ever could. Their son is an honored hero, and Trump understands the sacrifice.
The truth is, our enemy right now happens to be Muslim Terrorists...enough to cause this misery in the world. Any patriotic (to the USA or any civilized nation) Muslim should be honest and agree with that....and perhaps help.
