Gov. Greg Abbott is coming to the defense of a fallen Muslim soldier's family, which has been under attack from Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
"The service and devotion of Gold Star families to America cannot be questioned," Abbott said in a statement provided Monday to The Texas Tribune. "Captain [Humayun] Khan, like many heroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice, will be forever remembered for their service in protecting the freedoms we cherish in America."
Trump has been clashing with the Khans after Khizr Khan, Humayun Khan's father, delivered an emotional speech Thursday at the Democratic National Convention in which he said Trump had "sacrificed nothing and no one." Trump has since said Khizr Khan had "no right" to criticize him and speculated that the soldier's mother, who also appeared onstage at the Democratic Convention, was not "allowed" to speak.

Abbott can stick up his ass too. Trump didn’t attack Kahn or his wife. Trump was viciously attacked by this Clinton crony Kahn and if I were Trump I would sue him for defamation of character.

I don’t see a gold star family more deserving of respect than a family who lost their child to cancer or anything else. Respect is earned as an individual, not conveyed through bloodline.

Trump is not attacking the family. He’s responded to the loudmouthed tool of a father who inexplicably blamed Trump for the death of his son. Trump — rightfully — pushed back. And now the media have the distraction they were after to divert attention from their own whoredom and that of the DNC, as revealed by the Wikileaks emails.
Let's give Trump's op researchers scrutinize Mr. Muslim Gold Star Father and Mother. I'm sure he's got a dead infidel or two somewhere in his closet. OR ties to *cough* the Muslim Brotherhood as a Muslim Immigration Attorney.
After this, Trump needs to take the offensive against The Hag and focus on her million and one skeleton in her and Bubba's HUGE closet.
