I think Trump's observation of Mr. Khan's wife shows an increasing understanding of Islam on the part of the Republican candidate.

The Koran's wife beating verse that Donald Trump allueded to in his response to Mr. Khan's verbal scourging of him:

"Men have authority over women because God has made the one superior to the other, and because they spend their wealth to maintain them. Good women are obedient.
