Georgia Republican says he might withhold electoral college vote from Donald Trump

Vu will be on the November ballot as an elector – a constitutionally mandated stand-in for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. Should Trump take Georgia, Vu will be one of 16 Georgia members of the electoral college who will formally decide the U.S. presidential contest.

Vu has just put out a statement saying that he cannot bring himself to vote for Trump in the November general election. And he might not vote for Trump as a member of the electoral college, either.

Who are “they”?

They are Obama, Democrats, media, establishment Republicans and the Pope.

"And he might not vote for Trump as a member of the electoral college, either."

Then Georgia will imprison this sworn Elector. Or, replace and shame him.

Looks like he just resigned...

"The Georgia GOP elector who balked on whether to support Donald Trump has resigned, said Georgia GOP spokesman Ryan Mahoney."

We have a certain number of people in the Republican party who show outright contempt for voters. Just like some radical Cruz people trying to get the primaries overturned at the convention because they didn’t like the result, of course we will have dangerous anti-democratic types who will try to overturn the results of the general election too.

This only proves how much of a threat to our corrupt system that Trump really is. All the pretence of many of our elected officials that they care about the people having a say in how they are represented is out the window this election cycle. We must remember these people who are trying to steal away our right to determine our own future. They want to dictate to us instead who will rule us and how. We can’t let them do this. We have elections that mean something in the US; we are not Zimbabwe.

Look at his Facebook page, many of his friends are HRC supporters and on an earlier post he even speaks unkindly against Georgia Present and Past Republican governors. He’s a LIB.

We’re going to need a bigger database.

I agree with the interpretation you have displayed. It was written by the founders that way. But the founders’ intention to disallow a president to be installed based upon debt, is totally outdated and destroys the will of the people displayed in the many primaries through the land over the last year. So by saying we should not update the system, you are saying we should not allow black people or women to vote that was amended in 1870. Additionally we should not have the abolishment of slavery that was added in 1865. We even ordered people to stop drinking with one amendment and changed that 5 amendments later.

The nation may need amendments in the future. For example, advances in technology may change the way we communicate. Someday, we may be able to vote from our own homes, hooked into central computers through our TV sets. And what if we are able to live in space? We may need new laws to govern space life.

So allowing people to overrule the vote of citizens like this individual in the electoral college, not even for the reason you displayed, then that violates the use of the college. If you don’t evolve, you die. Ask Darwin.

And right now we even have a candidate running for the dems that has lied concerning confidential information she has allowed to slip through her system knowingly and admitted by the investigating lawmakers to be detriment to the US. And people should worry about debt? Do you know of a broke candidate? I don’t.
