Senior GOP Officials Exploring Options if Trump Drops Out

Republican officials are exploring how to handle a scenario that would be unthinkable in a normal election year: What would happen if the party's presidential nominee dropped out?

ABC News has learned that senior party officials are so frustrated — and confused — by Donald Trump's erratic behavior that they are exploring how to replace him on the ballot if he drops out.

So how would it work?

First, Trump would have to voluntarily exit the race. Officials say there is no mechanism for forcing him to withdraw his nomination. (Trump has not given any indications that he no longer wants to be his party's nominee.)

Then it would be up to the 168 members of the Republican National Committee to choose a successor, though the process is complicated.

One Republican legal expert has advised party officials that, for practical reasons, Trump would have to drop out by early September to give the party enough time to choose his replacement and get the next nominee's name on the ballot in enough states to win.

I’ve always believe McCain is an atheist. Now I believe he is a Satanist.

I agree, if Biden gets on the ballot last minute, he wins. Please don’t tell anyone I said that but... Trumps negatives sink him against Biden (last minute),

I suggest the “senior gop officials” take a leap. What butt-hurt, panties-in-a-knot idiots.

CNN was going on about this, this morning - along with some psychoanalysis of Trump. It’s the same ploy Cruz tried with Carson - circulate rumors about a candidate dropping out and that will discourage his supporters so that they won’t contribute money or time.

It is despicable, in all my years of watching I’ve never seen them be so blatantly dishonest and vile and where every MSM news outlet and establishment figure on Earth is chiming in against a presidential candidate because they’ve all been given over to serve that evil spirit inside that demonic Obama creature.

They have multiple aims here, to sow doubt and confusion among the low information voters, to give cover for their ‘looking’ at ways to erase Trump as a candidate and the most frightening, it may be a veiled threat,

ILLINOIS

Another GOPe Rino, Never Trumper that went on CNN and confirmed that he will not support Donald Trump for POTUS.

Kinzinger is just another little weasel punk that has turned on those in Illinois that worked for and supported him, which put him in office.

CHICAGO (AP) _ Illinois Congressman Adam Kinzinger says he cannot support Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

During an appearance Wednesday on CNN, Kinzinger said he is unlikely to vote for Trump because the nominee was “beginning to cross a lot of red lines of the unforgivable in politics.”
