Arthropods discriminate. Black widows matter.

This demon spawn.. I mean.. arthropod guards my front door at night. My wife said that I should edit out the red-eye from the picture, but I told her that you can't edit out the evil.

I had a dang hellgrammite in the bathtub last night. Live out in the country and I’ve seen 1 or 2 in the tub every summer since I’ve lived here.
Ugly little suckers.
Always makes me think of Papillon.

I have a daughter-in-law who would absolutely panic, if I showed her that picture.
I once showed her an article that said, if you live in North America, that you are never more than six feet from a spider....................I shouldn’t have shown it to her.

This is because they are murdered at higher rates in the inner city neighborhoods.

LOL! I can't count the times my husband has told me of having a Dobsonfly (as he says 'flying hellgrammite) land on him while he was fishing with his dad. In a rowboat, no way to get away. Again, in his words, "horrible, horrible bug; a bug that shouldn't exist", up to almost 5 inches long, with a lot of heft:

I’ve got a bright green little guy living outside by back door. You screw with his web, which is just perfect, he goes bananas. Very attentive and hard working. (If he was human, I know who he wouldn’t be voting for.)
I actually like spiders (well most).
Centipedes... that a whole nother story!!

With higher rates of exterminator calls for roaches, I’d bet you’re right.

One of my grand-daughters thinks tarantulas are the "cutest Little fuzzy things". lol
However. She is a country girl.
That might have something to do with her lack of fear

I like garden spiders.
Especially one that I watched out the window one summer.
When she decided to die in the fall and crawled down from her web, I put her back up on the window sill, but she just didn’t want to live any more.

I remember when I rented apartments in poor neighborhoods, I had to hire an exterminator service. Every month they came and sprayed.
Guess what, not only cockroaches died, but arthropods too.
