A spokesman says Mike Pence is endorsing all GOP congressional incumbents who are seeking re-election even as Donald Trump hesitates to support several of the partys most prominent members of Congress.
The mass endorsement is the latest attempt by Pence to smooth over turmoil within the Republican Party stirred by Trump in recent days.

Pence should not be endorsing all GOP incumbents in Congress. He should let the primary process run its course in each state and then endorse the candidates chosen by the voters.

I don’t think he came out in support of McCain and one other person.

Yup, it’s best to stay out of it and let the locals work out their own representation. Every district is different and the locals know best. People resent interference from outside voices. It’s true for Obama, Clinton, Trump, and Pence. You only end up angering one side or the other, sometimes both. Same reason you stay out of someone else’s family feud.

Yup, its best to stay out of it and let the locals work out their own representation. That sort of goes double because if a congressman or senator is doing a good job for his district or state, most of them will be reelected as long as they care to be. If an incumbent is in danger of losing to a challenger in a primry, there are probably some very good reasons for it.

I don’t think it’s even appropriate to endorse all incumbents.

Agreed. I may not like it, but I think that is the strategy. Trump said at his Rally today in Maine that Pence asked him if he was Cool with it of not. Trump said he had no problem with it. Paraphrasing of couse. I am trying to keep in mind that he picked Pence to work with the Congress when they win in November. ☺

You bring up a very good point. Pence will have to be a go between for Congress and the President. We know McConnell will be in the Senate until 2018, Ryan is shaky, but, Pence wants to get the president’s agenda passed. This is an excellent strategy.

I think Mr. Pence knows more about how things work on Capitol Hill than any of us do. He knows what he is doing.

He gave a general blanket statement and we have idiots trying to make hay of it. Part of Pence’s job is to be of some contrast to Trump and he’s doing it in a classy way.
