I had the honor of serving as Ronald Reagan's White House political director from 1987 to 1989, so I can claim some insight on U.S. politics. My central conclusion on the 2016 race: It might not be entirely clear that Hillary Clinton deserves to win the presidency, but it is thunderingly clear that Donald Trump deserves to lose.

These people will rue their behavior if Hillary become POTUS.
What, no author?
Never heard of him
Okay....all of you Republicans out there for whom Trump is not your cup of tea, can’t you see that if he loses this it is ALL OVER for YOU, and for YOUR PARTY???
The Democrats are at Step 9 of their 12 Step Permanent Majority Plan. If Hillary wins all she needs to do is pack the SCOTUS, legalize 30+ million immigrants from the third-world to vote, and force Section 8 housing into every currently safe “red” Congressional district, and the GOP will NOT win another election again until the sun goes super-nova.
Already there are too few voters who support the traditional Reagan brand of Conservatism (thanks to you guys contaminating it with cronyism over the past two decades). Alienate the Trump voters, many of whom I am sure will NEVER vote GOP again if you stab him in the back, and you will consign your party to permanent minority status, likely on it’s way to oblivion and a footnote in the history books.
I can see this plain as day, and I ain’t got no fancy Ivy League degrees.
The Cheap Labor Express will stop at nothing to prevent the citizens from electing anyone who woud stop the illegal alien inundation.
If we claim Trump is Reagan 2.0, won’t the Dems be able to claim (more easily, with support from family members) that Clinton is JFK 2.0?
Interesting these people who identify with RReagan conveniently disregard Reagan’s “11th Commandment”.
They also conveniently disregard how different the situation is now as opposed to 1980.
This so-called Reagan republican has obviously never heard of Reagan’s 11th commandment.
Since 2010, Lavin has served as CEO of Export Now, a company dedicated to helping consumer brands sell their products in China.[7]
They don’t care. The most important thing is keeping the borders open and the laws unenforced.
Well, maybe he doesn’t consider Trump a Republican...
Sorry, this guy disgusts me.
Khan crap, 4 bankruptcies, really? That’s his big problem?
Hillbag is a reprobate and a traitor and would be a complete disaster if elected.
The utter selfishness of the “repukelican” is repulsive. A shame he served with Reagan. Yuck.
He says he’s going to vote for Hillary. That makes him a traitor to everything Ronald Reagan ever stood for. He is scum of the lowest order.
Yeah, he’s a globalist who endorsed Hillary back in August.
Wiki Page on him:
Frank Lavin (Franklin L. Lavin, born October 26, 1957) is a former Republican White House aide who was the political director for Ronald Reagan between 19871989, United States Diplomat, and bank executive.[1]
As Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade, Lavin headed the International Trade Administration for the United States Department of Commerce from 2005 until 2007.[2][3]
From 2001 to 2005, Lavin served as the United States Ambassador to Singapore.[4]
A 2005 report by the Office of the Inspector General of the Department of State praised Lavin’s leadership in this position, calling him “a strong leader with a high degree of intellectual curiosity who wants to be kept well-briefed by all agencies, and yet lets people do their jobs without micromanaging”.[5]
Under Secretary Lavin earned a B.S. from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University; a M.S. in Chinese language from Georgetown University; a M.A. in International Relations and International Economics from the School of Advanced International Studies at the Johns Hopkins University; and a M.B.A. in Finance at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.[4]
Frank Lavin and his wife Ann (née Wortley) have been married since November 29, 1980.[6] They have three children.
Since 2010, Lavin has served as CEO of Export Now, a company dedicated to helping consumer brands sell their products in China.[7]
In August 2016, Lavin endorsed Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in 2016 presidential election.[8]

>>Can’t he see that?
No. He got old. Progressivism progressed and infected America’s institutions even more. He probably can’t even see how it has changed his own worldview.
The people who support Trump WORK for a living, whether it is for a paycheck or to keep their small to medium business afloat. So old political operative from 30 years ago hasn’t sweated for a paycheck since....who knows.
The people who actually work can see that the Progressive Dream does not work for us. We know that we are the fuel and the lubricant for the Handout Economy. There is no handout for us. Just never-ending labor, since our pensions are gone, our 401k is “managed” by the stock market to provide minimal returns to keep us interested, but not enough to get rich (as people did in the late 90’s/early 00’s). The daily ups and downs provide plenty of opportunities for wealth for those who can move a million dollars on a phone call, but they amount to almost nothing for the mutual fund holders.
This old “Reagan Republican” needs us working and he needs a large population of non-workers to keep our wages down and he needs the importation of cheap labor to drive our wages down even more.
Then, when our wages and expectations are lowered enough, we can compete on the “global labor market” with China.
Establishment repukelicans don’t care if they are in the minority. Gives them cover.
well, march your sorry ass over to Hillary’s camp and vote for her then. We did not need traitors in 1775 and we damn sure don’t need or want them in 2016.
Not that he has a dog in the fight... Hillary wins, "no borders" continues to make him fabulously wealthy. Trump wins, business dries up and he's living in a cardboard box on the street. No, this is completely unbiased.
