Regardless of what her true medical diagnosis proves to be, her self-centered, mean, rageful personality likely makes her worse. Miserable people who have enjoyed hurting others seldom turn into kind, admirable people and anger at the situation exacerbates symptoms.

This one seems no big deal. Who hasn’t had his or her brain racing ahead laying out points, sequence, wording, and then lost your place with the actual,speech coming out? This was momentary and she recovered albeit the finish to her long rambling sentence wasn’t well articulated. “...we must get the cost out of the...upward spiral.”

If it had been Obumbles, you would have had a stream of 15 or 20 “if...if...if...if...if...uh...uh...uh...er...er...er...er” while his “brain” fumbled and struggled to close out a sentence he he had started. At least she doesn’t stutter and stammer like the current idiot.

My mom was a mild case nine years ago. It only took a couple of years for her to get where your mother is now.

She’s in the moderate to severe range now. Doesn’t get out of bed. Doesn’t want to eat. Doesn’t care about anything. Doesn’t understand much of anything.

My point was that onset of dementia is different for different people. That’s all.

I hate it too, Yaelle. My mom was like that five years in and slowly slowly slowly she has lost a little bit more in the last five years. I am thankful that, like your mom, she is very sweet and doesn’t get angry much.

At this point she doesn’t know she is getting angry when she does. I say something ridiculous and non-sequitur and get her to laugh and the anger is all forgotten.
