I’m not in the first congressional district, but here are some of the issues.....Ryan is still clearly the favorite according to polls. Aside from blasting Ryan, Nehlen didn’t advance many of his ideas other than to talk about immigration. No offense, but to people who live in the frozen tundra of Wisconsin, nobody thinks about the Mexican border that much, nor do they worry about how it’ll affect their jobs. They’re much more in tune with local taxes, how much money the democrats have spent in Wisconsin and that sort of thing. I just don’t think Nehlen ever understood he needed to talk about things other than immigration. It just hasn’t resonated and as a result, he’s not a great candidate. And now I’ll wait for all those people to tell me what a good ‘businessman’ he is, working for some firm based out of state that has a regional office in Beaver Dam, or that he moved back here to run against Ryan...but a local person with more presence in the first congressional district probably would’ve been a better choice.
After Cantor’s loss the RINOs have learned to do whatever it takes to win their primary. I don’t think we’ll ever see a Brat repeat.
Now the general election is a different matter and I wish there had been some attempt to run conservatives against the worse RINOs, like Ryan, in the General.
Right, there are mostly white working class in Wisconsins factories still. An anomaly for sure. Tattoos, beer, and deer. Thats what they know. And packers of course.
Thanks for the info and your input. Being a Floridian I certainly don’t know the concerns of folks in Ryan’s district. I am of the opinion that even a DEM winning that seat would be better than Ryan! Globalist Ryan will be nothing by a thorn in Trump’s side and will do everything he can to get TPP passed and open borders remaining. In fact, Ryan wants TPP passed so badly he will probably do all he can to help Obama get it done before he leaves office.
