HOLY WAR: GOVERNMENT TRIES TO CONTROL CHURCH SERMONS

An Iowa church just wants to be free to preach the gospel, but the state’s so-called nondiscrimination requirements could block the house of worship from doing just that.

Lawyers for the church are asking a federal court to prevent Iowa from censoring what the religious group can say about homosexuality, same-sex “marriage,” transgenderism and other related topics.

The case erupted when the state’s Civil Rights Commission first claimed the authority to control the content of sermons and then to define what’s religious.

At issue is the state’s nondiscrimination requirements that specify any “public accommodation” can be ordered not to say anything that might make a homosexual or a transgender feel “unwelcome,” such as even reading from the Bible a condemnation of such behavior.

Lawyers for the Alliance Defending Freedom, who are representing the church, have filed a reply in support of their motion for a preliminary injunction that would protect the church members’ constitutional rights while the case plays out.

The government has already said preachers can’t be political. Now they can’t preach on homosexuality. Next, what will it be? Guns? Family values? Shopping and home décor? Maybe the government should send out pre-approved sermons.

He pushes it in African CHRISTIAN countries, but not Muslim countries there; it is simply an easy issue on which Christianity can be attacked.

The “gay agenda” of the Dems/liberals has nothing to do with protecting/defending them but everything to do with another angle to divide a population for political purposes; in addition to the small minority of perverts, they are targeting their families, friends, co-workers, etc. - and putting them in the “D” column on election day. They’ve waged war with gender, race, class, generational - and now deviancy...

The First Amendment protects offensive speech. Non-offensive speech DOES NOT NEED PROTECTING because NOBODY WANTS TO CENSOR SPEECH THAT DOES NOT OFFEND THEM.

I agree we are far from it . Most of the pastors are not shepherds , they are hirelings that flee. That is why they do not speak out. If 30% of them actually spoke out we would not be in the situation we are in . We would not be in it if 10% of the spoke out.

The persecution hasn’t even really started YET.
You are just getting the gist of what things are going to get like as they let their intentions be known.

2Ch_7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Notice the cure for the healing of the land
pray
seek God’s face
turn from wickedness
then he hears
then he heals the land

We are where we are at BECAUSE the people who call themselves Christians are NOT doing those things .
So many of them are in love with the world and it is going to take some serious persecution to WAKE THEM UP.

Starting to get why the muslims are being let into the country yet ?

So, “separation of Church and State,” which Jefferson intended to protect the Church from the State, has come to mean the exact opposite, just like the Second Amendment.

The problem lies in the fact that those who will have to do the fighting aren’t the ones who caused the fight. Until the politicians who enact these unconstitutional laws are sanctioned personally, they will fight you with your money until you are broke. There has to be another way.

Thank you for referencing that article amorphous. Please note that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

Patriots, what is worse? States who violate Section 1 of the 14th Amendment (14A) by abridging constitutionally enumerated rights, 1st Amendment-protected freedoms of religious expression and speech in this case, or low-information citizens with religious convictions who evidently don’t know 14A and consequently cannot protect themselves when their state violates that amendment?

14th Amendment, Section 1: All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States [emphasis added]; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

As mentioned in related threads, please consider the following.

The only sex-related right that the states have amended the Constitution to expressly protect is voting rights as evidenced by the 19th Amendment. And since politically correct LGBT “rights” are clearly outside the scope of voting issues, such “rights” not expressly protected by the Constitution like the enumerated rights are.

So low-information, pro-LGBT activist state officials and judges who are using constitutionally unprotected, pro-LGBT equality rights to trump constitutionally enumerated rights are unthinkingly violating Section 1 of the 14A imo.

Also, consider that when the Founding States drafted the Constitution, they had prohibited both themselves and the feds from establishing protected / privileged classes. This is evidenced by the following constitutional clauses.

So by making laws and policies which promote constitutionally unrecognized LGBT “rights and privileges," both the feds and pro-gay activist states are effectively violating these clauses imo.

Again, what is worse? Pro-gay activist federal and state officials who are using government powers to harass Christians, or Christians who evidently don’t know their constitutional protections well enough to protect their lives and businesses from unconstitutional government interference?

In fact, citizens with religious convictions should note regarding exercising their 14th Amendment protections that Acts 22:23-30 shows that Paul claimed his rights as a Roman citizen to save himself from being flogged.

Under the law, compelling an individual business to serve homos is likely legal. But compelling a church to refrain from advocating the written gospel is a clear transgression of the 1st Amendment.

look again at what you said. Why do you hold the first amendment protection of the freedom of religion as sacred but abandon the first amendment protection of the right of assembly?

The right to assemble includes, as it must, the right to choose to not assemble at all. That is, I can choose to not assemble with any person for whatever reason I can think of (or no reason at all).

ANY and EVERY law that prohibits discrimination by a private individual is an unconstitutional violation of the first amendment!
