Dem senator (Murphy - Idiot, Connecticut): Trump made 'assassination threat'
The Hill ^ | August 9, 2016 | Mark Hensch

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) says Donald Trump's controversial line about "Second Amendment people" qualifies as an assassination threat against Hillary Clinton.

[Snip]

Murphy was addressing a remark Trump made earlier Tuesday about what kind of Supreme Court justices Clinton would appoint as president.

"Hillary wants to abolish, essentially abolish, the Second Amendment," he said. "By the way, if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks.

"Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don’t know," Trump added.

Other Democrats joined Murphy in condemning Trump's remarks.

Projection. Really, deep in their hearts, many of these liberal Democrats (and a good many of their brethren, the liberal “Republicans”) would cheerfully support and even facilitate the “removal” of Republican opponents that espoused the conservative and historically patriotic view of America.

Since they are of this mindset already, with its deep undercurrents of paranoia and prejudice, they think that EVERYBODY thinks as they do, and immediately assign all the worst motives to anyone who dares to raise objections to their most noble cause of worship at the feet of secular humanism.

How freaky. He looks like Salvo in that creepy l'il short film "Self Assembly".

Why are the dims almost always "not right"?

And I saw that comment in ILM yesterday. Obviously joking and not suggesting anything. The media, with very few exceptions, are just so blatant with their BS now that only the voluntarily blind could not see it. d:^|

While watching the news this morning, it is clear that the MSM is setting up the strategy that whatever the Hillary campaign proclaims is the default setting for what is true, and it is up to the Trump campaign to disprove the Hillary campaign pronouncements.

Of course, the Hillary campaign concerns itself with only things that are subjective and therefore are not capable of being disproved.

Hillary’s hideous record does not exist for the Hillary campaign/MSM.

Dimestore mannequin. Suggest a contest to PhotoShop items hanging from his fist. A pack of Trojans would be fun.

Paul Ryan has already jumped with the Democrats’ take. I think I may, for the first time in my life, give money to a Democrat — his opponent in the general election.

And it may be effective. We sit here amazed at their “idiocy” and “How can they beleive it?” but they do not believe it and they do know exactly what Trump meant.
They are however in it to win it and if they can create any doubt whatsoever they will do so.

All they have to do is sway just a few folks and the apoplectic they get, the more someone might notice...of course the pressititutes go into their fake orgasms of horror. Very impressive kabuki theater.

Then you have asshats like Ryan saying it wasn’t very funny...etc.

Sheesh, can he not stfu???

Assassination threat, or virtual "call to arms" (aka get out the vote) for 2nd Amendment people? Hard to say, you could make an argument either way. The combination of provocative nature but with legal cover, and the way in which it was delivered... Once again I think this is Trump playing the media like his own personal fiddle.

That was no off-script, off-the-cuff, ill-considered remark. That was carefully crafted. Obviously it gets the interest of us 2nd Amendment supporters. It gets a ton of media attention. It draws out his adversaries, making them expose themselves and take sides on the anti-second side. It sets the narrative. Are we talking about what the Clinton camp wants to talk about? Nope. We're talking about what Trump and crew want to talk about, they are "driving the bus."

In short, I think the really significant thing here isn't his comment, it is how easily and almost casually he can direct the public debate with a couple of phrases.

This is media driven and you are perpetuating the lies. Leave if you want to vote for Hillary.

I could care less. It was a joke, not a serious threat. PC speech is killing us. Wake up and vote Trump or die along with Hillary. Your choice.

-- What is amusing is that a few years ago the liberal 9th circuit set the bar so high on what constitutes an actionable "assassination threat" ... --

So what. Precedents are putty in the hand of a skilled judge. Law is an outcome oriented process, and every case has enough distinguishing qualities, that the court can pick the outcome in advance, and conform the analysis to that.

I honestly don’t know what Trump meant by his remark but I see how some could take it.

The only thing that I think made it look bad for Trump is he added "It would be a horrible thing." at the end, like he kind of realized that maybe he went to far and was trying to quickly walk it back. If in his original statement he just meant, as he later stated, that 2nd amendment supporters would be able to stop Hillary at the voting booth or with protests, why would that be a "horrible thing", I would think that would be a great thing?

That being said, I don't really care, it doesn't effect my support of Trump one bit, as many have pointed out Hillary made a much less ambiguous assassination threat against Obama in 2008....
