First, I’m more concerned that a button pusher in Washington D.C. not have expansive access to my comings and goings and transactions and what kind of dyspepsia medication I might be taking. I trust my wife more than them.

This is part and parcel of how Communism seeks to destroy free and decent societies, by undermining the moral code, which invariably is always based on Judeo-Christian teachings, and encouraging everyone to be adulterous whores and cheats, and they base that on the ‘right’ to “do as thou wilt”, which of course carries the highest recommendation from the Devil himself.

Seismic cultural shifts over the last decade suggest that the monogamy imperative’s days are numbered.

I think I would resist the seismic cultural shift than toss out the monogamy imperative. When does freedom mean the freedom to be overwhelmed by the seismic cultural shift?

Yeah, sure. But they ALSO want your wife to take you to the cleaners if you DO commit adultery. But....if your wife does it, it’s perfectly understandable as you are a straight, White male.

Got it?

The inclination to confess an extramarital affair, or demand the details of a spouse’s sexual conquests in an open relationship stems, in part, from a Judeo-Christian morality that views all sex as inherently dirty and suspect

Someone's been reading too much Nathaniel Hawthorne. Right thinking Christians view the marital act to be too important and even sacred to abuse. The opposite of dirty. You cannot read Genesis, the Song of Solomon, or the Gospel of Matthew and get any other idea. The Kingdom of God is like a Wedding Feast.

It matters not.

If you say “Till Death Do Us Part”, and mean it, NOTHING* society or any other human can do can cause that to fail. All this caterwauling about Porn, the ease of ‘hooking up’, the sexual revolution and anything else is BS- it’s like one’s waist or budget- within one’s control; yes circumstances can make something harder or easier but it is 100% about commitment and willpower, everything else is losers making excuses. The ONLY thing you can control is yourself and your reactions to what happens, but any and everyone can control that.

OMG-—these people are insane. Infidelity does so much damage to the kids and spouse who has been cheated on. You can move on and forgive but the scars will always be there, especially if the family life and marriage was solid to begin with.

Didn’t many of the hippies concede that ‘pairing off’ was better than jumping around from partner to partner?

Having studied law, and having closely studied SCOTUS jurisprudence, it is obvious that the 14th amendment contains a right to adultery. It just hasn’t been discovered yet.

Twinkie here. Married almost 53 yrs. to the same old goat.
I made a vow all those years ago. Breaking that vow is
LYING to go with ADULTERY. - I realize - let he, or she
who thinketh they stand take heed lest they fall. With all
the AIDS & other STD’s, dipping in the adultery pool these
days can get you sick and DEAD. FAST! No matter how HOT he
or she LOOKS! LOOKS CAN BE VERY DECEIVING!

Fraud against a spouse is grounds for an immediate annulment here-and fraud even includes lying about job and income much less something like sex with another person-which is worse, considering the harmful STDs being passed around...

To play the devil’s advocate; who’s business is this anyway? Why is blackmail a crime? Blackmail only threatens to expose the truth. Why is speaking the truth or threatening to speak the truth (adultery, criminal activity, past activities criminal or otherwise) a crime? Perhaps there is a free market value on keeping activities, current or past, quiet?

This is the disservice the feminists have done to women.

A man has a lifelong ability to have children– barring a physical complication, he can be fertile into his last years (Mick Jagger, a father at 72, comes to mind).

For a woman, her fertility times out by her mid-30s.

If she does not have a commitment of monogamy from a man by her early 30s, or a child in hand, she's done.

We as a society are at the same time asked to believe a single mother is exercising a right, and also that she is a victim.

So when a man keeps a woman without making a commitment, he can change her for a younger version almost with impunity.

That woman pays a cost if she had wanted children. Women are told that they are entitled to children no matter what– children be damned– and that it's up to society to support (pay for) her choice. The child and the man have no say in the matter.

The behavior is destructive to men (they know they're being treated badly by society, so why not get what you can out of it) and to women who miss the life experience of a family.

The author is clearly not a Christian.

the ways in which our privacy has dramatically decreased due to technological innovations, while our access to sexual possibilities has exponentially increased for the same reason, making the expectation of marital monogamy far harder to fulfill, and infidelity far easier to discover.

Because living in a small village was so private and having several prostitutes working at the local watering hole cut down your access to sex.

Do these people ever read an actual history book?
