You should see them a couple of days after a match. They are beat up.
They also use make up to cover bruises.
It’s a show, and yes, they ham the crap out of it, but being picked up and thrown by a 350lb man is still being picked up and thrown by a 350lb man.
I remember years ago seeing one thrown out of the ring.
I saw Dusty Rhodes and Big Bob Dunkum go at it in a steel cage match at the Hesterly Armory in Tampa. The match was “predetermined” but they sure made it look real. There faces were bloody messes by the time Rhodes won that match. Ever since AIDS came out, it’s very rare when these guys draw blood.
