I think she said, “Well, bless his heart, it’s just so sweet of him to be concerned about my daddy.” At least that is what an old time southern belle might have said and anyone hearing it would have instantly translated it as, “That fat-assed simpleton had better shut his fat mouth or he will wish he had.”
