My opinion the best question to ask in order to find out if they're a fundamentalist:
Is the Qur'an absolutely perfect?

I never seen a poll on this. Though it's a logical question. you ask a christian that about the bible they will say, no. nothing is prefect it's not the actual word of god.

A fundamentalist Muslim will says yes, of course it's the word of Allah.

The question is really good because it doesn't put them on the defense. Since the Qur'an is perfect no civil law/man made law is greater then Allah's law/Sharia. Which is the definition of fundamentalism.

That will not work. Muslims on Jihad can do anything they want since Qur'an 9:111 frees them of all their sins when they die in Jihad(war against none Muslims)
