Donald Trump’s declaration this week at a campaign rally that President Obama and Hillary Clinton “founded” ISIS drew outrage from establishment media, and the Republican nominee now insists he was being sarcastic, but a Defense Intelligence Agency document declassified last year shows the Obama administration was warned in 2012 that if it continued its policies, a radical Islamic regime could form in Eastern Syria.
Writing in Chronicles magazine, Jim Jatras, a former U.S. diplomat and foreign policy adviser to the Senate GOP leadership, cited a DIA report in August 2012 that was declassified and released last year under a Freedom of Information Act request from Judicial Watch.
Hillary Clinton was secretary of state at the time under President Obama.
The report said “there is the possibility of establishing a declared or undeclared Salafist principality in Eastern Syria, and this is exactly what the supporting powers to the opposition want, in order to isolate the Syrian regime.”

Several years ago, I was getting some push-back for saying this very thing. I blamed it on McCain and Obama.
They armed and funded them.
Hell, al Qaeda units were signing up with their weapons we provided. Didn’t take a brain-trust to figure this one out.
1. Obama withdrew from Iraq in a very idiotic manor.
2. He sent in arms and funding.
3. He feigned innocence when ISIS sprang on the scene overnight.
Even being sarcastic, Trump is right again. Simply amazing.
Hillary is their Grandmother. Obama is their J.V. Coach.

I understand your putting a finer point on the degree of responsibility Obama, Hillary and McCain have for the rise of ISIS.
You infer it may be too hyperbolic to claim ISIS was founded or created by Obama’s deliberate effort to fund Al-Queda, a declared enemy of America and other nations.
Mid-wife may be more accurate in that describes one who delivers a child versus conceives the child.
I think that’s too generous and kind a dilution of blame.
Simplify the matter in order that disastrous deadly policy issue gets traction against the democrats.
1. Obama and Hillary have repeatedly demonstrated supporting the more radical anti-human rights Islamic forces in each country they’ve f*cked around in, ie: Egypt (Muslim Brotherhood), Libya and Syria (Al-Queda) in order to affect regime change.
2. Obama and Hillary PAID and DIRECTED radical anti-human rights Islamic forces in Egypt (Muslim Brotherhood), Libya and Syria (Al-Queda) to wage a bloody revolution against regimes in power, resulting in the violent deaths of THOUSANDS of civilians, and displace MILLIONS from their homes.
3. If Obola, HRC, McCain and neo-cons had not F*ucked around, soliciting, paying and directing Al-Queda, a declared radical islamic enemy of the USA for violent intercourse in Libya and Syria, ISIS would have never been born.
It is accurate and more effective to state, ISIS IS THE SPAWN of Obama and Hillary’s deliberate campaign to instigate revolution in Libya and Syria.
They planned, funded and directed a declared enemy of the USA, to wage war against the government’s of Libya and Syria.
The result was ISIS being born, MILLIONS being displaced and THOUSANDS of people being raped, tortured, beheaded, thrown from buildings and burned alive, to this very day.
The Middle east, Europe and the world is on fire, thanks to Obola’s love child, ISIS.

I lived and worked in the Middle East for several years. The majority of the people are good. They just want a job, a home and provide for their families. They are totally scared out of their wits by the radicals. Nor do they understand democracy. They are quite happy with a benevolent autocrat. They are also damn good businessmen. It was not bad living and working there. However it was before the present strife. I would not go back and work there again in the present situations.”

As I understand it, most of the brains in ISIS were released from Club Gitmo. Even when GW released a few, it was due to pressure from leftist groups.
If we had been hard-ball with terrorists we caught, ISIS would have started with less effective leadership and been a roach motel for terrorists — taking the bait, they would have been easily killed off.
Do you recall that the initial brain power of ISIS was prisoners we released from Club Gitmo?
General Petraus had bought off the key anti-US warlords in Iraq. That was part of his surge strategy. In the long run, it proved to be the right policy. The war lords became mercenaries for the US.
I never would have approved of the Petraus plan myself, not understanding guerrilla warfare at the time. But it worked.

No, I don’t. To be honest, I haven’t focused on their activity post Gitmo. I have noticed from time to time that at least some of them have gone on to be very active. None the less, Obama keeps releasing them.
He’s simply an enemy of the United States. He is the terrorists friend more than ours. The guy had Muslim Brotherhood advisers inside the White House, openly.
If some of them were openly the leadership of ISIS, it wouldn’t surprise me at all.
