Reminds me of a documentary I saw years ago that made the case that it was not Elliot Ness and his men who brought down the Chicago gangs but rather as the corruption and violence began to spill out into surrounding communities folks had finally had enough and grabbed their shotguns and descended en masse on Chicago and ran the gangsters out of the city and out of the state. One might see how the gummint would not be interested in a version of history where the little people were able to accomplish for themselves in a weekend what gummint could not after years.
