The increasing amount of unchecked lawlessness by the usual suspects has me sweating - not just for my fiance and my money and well-being, but for the inevitable backlash which might well make what caused it look like peanuts.
If this kind of rampant thuggery keeps popping up in more areas it’s going to be increasingly hard to argue with the Neo-Confederate movement I see making a big comeback in some conservative areas. “Any port in a storm”, as the old saying goes - the thought of these animals serving you by force for nothing is an attractive thought in the first place and doubly so when you can see the smoke from burning buildings in your own city.
This needs to be nipped in the bud, because it’s being instilled in the very young.
Grabbed a quick bite at a fast food place on the way to the airport in the NE philly this weekend. Sitting there eating my meal, two feral youths come in, sweating from head to toe, empty soda bottles in their hands. They looked 12-13ish. They walk directly to the soda fountains and begin filling their bottles. The cashier says “Hey, you have to pay for that”
The kids gave her a blank stare and replied “it ain’t free? That’s bullshit.” They then went outside and sat in the outdoor dining area.
The manager leaned out the door and told them to leave. They told him “mind your bidness whitey.”
Manager went behind the counter, reemerged, and told them the cops were on the way. They left. The cops didn’t show up in the 10 minutes I finished my meal.
But in that same period of time, a 30-something black man DID argue with the cashier about how he was given a small order of fries when he ordered a large. The cashier assured him that he ordered and paid for a small, but of course gave him a free large fry and an apology.
This is all learned behavior.
