I had a job grossing around 5K every two weeks. The fed gov took 1500 right off the top. That didn’t include state taxes. Then you’ve got property taxes (you think you own your home, LOLOLOLOL). Then you’ve got personal property taxes on your car. Then you’ve got sales tax. Then I have to purchase insurance that I don’t need. Then there’s the gas tax. Then there’s the tolls to pay to drive on the roads that have been privatized by foreign corporations (I thought we already paid taxes to build those roads)? Don’t forget the cops that lay in wait to write you a dozen tickets for not following one of the voluminous laws on the books.

Is this really America?

That's not the America I grew up in. But it is now your reality. In my youth, government got by easily with 4 percent sales tax. Now it's almost 10 percent sales tax (actually 9.75 where I am). Wait a minute, people are spending more, a lot more, and 10 percent isn't cutting it where 4 percent once did? There were fewer fees and other hidden taxes, now they're everywhere on your utilities, tires, electronics, you name it they are extra taxes that didn't exist earlier.

In my youth, my dad raised 5 kids, bought a home on $100 down, my mom didn't have to work but held temp jobs here and there for extra money, we had a couple cars, and my dad barely hit $10,000 a year salary before he passed away. Try raising 5 kids now on a single low-paid blue-collar job. Parking meters were infrequent, and cost pennies per hour. Traffic tickets weren't much more than $15. Movie tickets were a quarter and featured two movies for one ticket. Gasoline was 22 cents a gallon. Candy bars were 5 cents, and giant candy bars were 10 to 25 cents.

This wasn't a century ago, it was over 50 years ago. Living was affordable on a shoestring budget. Then the socialists went crazy taxing the crap out of everything and created a nanny state with "freebies". A major reset is in order, until then more painful increases in taxes are coming. That's America under Hillary.
