Oh, I am getting it because I am an older boomer. When you throw money at people who did not pay into the system, like SS disability ,welfare, “nation building” etc.- I have no tolerance for the govt saying that there is no money for SS.
Familiar with Venezuela? Having no tolerance for what the government says is unrelated to the degree of suffering imposed by that government.
You and I don't deserve Social Security any more than a victim of a Ponzi scheme deserves the reward promised by the perpetrator of that scheme.
You and I will only benefit as long as the working majority tolerates it. We are already seeing the many ways in which the competitiveness of the U.S. economy is crippled by programs such as Social Security. Within a generation we will see massive changes. There is no alternative.
