“I wonder what it takes to eliminate an agency.”

Big brass ones.

This was 100% predictable and indeed inevitable when someone somewhere decided that objects could be charged with criminal activity and seized on suspicion.

Fox, you guard the chicken coop tonight. Ok?

The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals.
Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them.
One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws

Indeed. It did teach them something. It taught them that if they want to keep the gravy train rolling, that they have to have a war on some drugs to justify the corruption they profit so much from. The government at all levels of this country is far more corrupt than most Americans will ever admit to because if they did, they might just have to do something about it.

Every single day that goes by without some citizen reaching his breaking point with this government astounds me.

I disagree.

No judge would put his signature on a search warrant based only on “travel habits.”

It would be laughed out of court.

A judge would need additional evidence, plus “travel habits.”

The DEA has been running this same airport search scam since the Reagan administration.

They profile a passenger, approach, give him/her some baloney story, then ask if they can search his luggage or person or whatever.

If you say “No,” they may claim they can get a search warrant in 15 minutes, and that you can’t leave.

100% baloney. When your plane gets its boarding call, you just stand up and leave, without saying a word. The DEA won’t do anything.

Highway Patrol works the same scam. They find a plausible reason to pull your car over, then they ask if they can search your car.

People panic. They put themselves in jail. All they have to do is say “No.”

If the DEA has real drug evidence on you, they aren’t going to wait to arrest you at the airport.

They’ll kick in your front door at 5 AM and search your entire house, with a valid search warrant.

"Didn’t the wasted money, multiple deaths, and DISMAL results of prohibition teach America ANYTHING?!?"

why yes, yes it did.....it taught us that a family could gain vast wealth by selling prohibited items (BOOZE)...Kennedy's and booze go hand in hand..
