Trump is a practical man. Recent news relating to Manafort, whether manufactured or not, is becoming a distraction. Manafort doesn't want or need that, and neither does Trump. It's not fair in the least, any more than Fields was able to distract the campaign with her lies.

They are all adults, all share the same ultimate objective, and none of them aim to step into Trump's role as "leader" of the effort.

You can't blame Manafort for that! The RNC nominated loser after loser. Dole's loss as well as McCain's and Romney's are the the fault of crummy candidates, not poor campaign management.
