Come on. Sarcasm tags and barf alerts are training wheels for the mentally aggrieved. Put some spice in your pabulum.

Unrelated to the thread topic - except this is about Aetna.

In June I had some symptoms develop, among them were a tightness and pressure in my chest, very mild pain down my right arm, a constant ache between my shoulder blades, and a choking feeling when I spoke or sang resulting in an inability to do so. No fever.

I went to a doc-in-the-box recommended by Aetna when I called to pre-authorize. I identified as an Aetna patient and paid the co-pay requested. The doc did an EKG and a chest x-ray. He determined I was not having a heart attack, as my friends thought, but had pneumonia. He prescribed a z-pack and I went home to follow the doctor’s orders.

In July I called Aetna again to pre-authorize another doctor visit. On the phone this time, I was told that Aetna had denied the previous claim because the doctor had “performed an unauthorized procedure” on me. Therefore, Aetna wasn’t paying the fee and instructed me not to pay the business anything either.

Although the doctor gave me what I considered to be an appropriate and necessary evaluation, Aetna claims it wasn’t. Suppose I was having a heart attack and the doc had not run an EKG? Or, was it the x-ray that was wrong? The picture clearly showed a lung infection.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Yes, true.., they’re in business to make a profit and we normally say get out of their way and let them make it.

But this time they made a deal with the devil and were okay with forcing us to buy what they’re selling.

Ha! No, don’t want to argue. I understand why your instinct is to stand up for business, just wanted to point out the obvious, I suppose.

Zero believes his ponzi scheme is here to stay. I hope he’s wrong.
