Associated Press "science" propaganda via WRIC television news, ABC channel 8, in Richmond, Virginia
Gist: NASA claims that July 2016 was the hottest month on earth ever. Surpassing all the other hottest months ever. All because of fossil fuel burning and man.

Where did NASA stick the thermometer to obtain the temperature of "earth?"
When NASA compared July's temperature (how did they measure that, btw) to the average temperature of the "1950 through 1980 global average," did they use satellite data from the same satellites in 1950 and 1960 as they did in 2016?
Just how does one measure the temperature of "the earth?" At the core? On the surface? Of the land? Sea? At 1000 feet up? Ten feet below in the dirt? Ten feet below in the ocean? 100 feet? From a satellite? With a huge rectal thermometer? What samples sizes did they have in 1950? In 1960?

    Statistical obfuscations and outright lies.
The big question is always “what is the perfect temperature for the planet?”

"NASA: Last month was Earths hottest in recorded history" How many standards did they have to change to reach this conclusion?

Don't we already have a plan for this?

I remember when NASA was a respectable organization.
BTW, isn’t Ted Cruz on some committee or sub-committee for Space or NASA? I don’t hear much from him. Too busy trying to trash Trump I guess.

The “recorded history” in the context of measuring true global temperatures is the satellite era - only 35 years. In this period, it is a true statement. Misleading, but true.
Only need to go back to the 1930s to find hotter years.

To: mbarker12474
From the article: “(NWS)Records go back to 1880.”
Obviously, this is quite different than what is implied in the article’s title: “...In Recorded History”
Another salient point; sampling points have changed dramatically since the early NWS records were taken. Most sampling points today are at large, open, paved airfields ...in other words “heat islands” ...which of course didn’t even exist in the 1880’s!
