Breaking Poll: Rick Perry Leads Ted Cruz by 9 Points in Texas Senate Race
the gateway pundt ^ | 8/18/16 | Jim Hoft

Posted on 08/18/2016 9:24:55 AM PDT by blueyon

Senator Cruz stunned conservatives when he refused to endorse Donald Trump at the RNC Convention in Cleveland. This came after Cruz was thumped in the GOP primary race. Perry leads Cruz in a senate primary matchup 46% to 37%.

The Texas Tribune reported:

A new poll suggests there is at least one fellow Republican who could unseat U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz in 2018: Rick Perry.

The former Texas governor would beat Cruz by 9 percentage points, according to the forthcoming survey from the Democratic-leaning firm Public Policy Polling. Set to be released later today, the poll found Perry would get 46 percent of the vote and Cruz 37 percent, with 18 percent saying they are not sure whom they would support.

>I don’t know what to think. Cruz made an @$$ out of himself at the GOP Convention by refusing to endorse Trump but Rick Perry is Bushie soft on illegal immigration. One needs to look at the big picture here.

The big picture is Ted broke his word and has been working to get Hillary elected. Perry kept his word and is supporting Trump. If you fail to punish traitors you end up with more treason.

why is this not good?

Not good for the Cruzinistas.

With any luck, Lyin' Ted will wind up as a slip-n-fall lawyer in in Odessa.

He'll have to have his own business though, because no one will want to be a partner.

It would be funny if he flew down there and told the voters to “vote the conscience”. LOL.

Cruz burned his bridges, his boats, and his boots with his performance at the RNC.

Former Defense Secretary (and Texas A & M President) Gates was on CSPAN and talked about how Perry wanted to appoint some political hack as A & M President.

Both Cruz and Perry are useless jokes.

Texas can and should do better.

>Cruz has damaged himself but he is a true conservative.

True conservitives don’t fly around with cop killer 1(Obama) and cut deals to help Hillary get elected.

Texas needs a genuine patriot to run for Senate. Do they have any?
Patrick, probably. But he really needs to raise his profile. Abbott, possibly. If he can stay healthy.

In reading this is just struck me that conservative has lost it’s name brand.

Patriot does put a picture and emotion in your mind.

All I can ask of Texan folk is to “vote their conscience”

After all, that’s ted’s creed

Perry waited until the last month of his term to endorse the ‘E-verify’ system of curtailing illegals working in Texas and he supported tuition breaks for illegals.

Cruz advocated for hundreds of thousands of foreigners to enter the USA in order to displace American workers. Heard this morning that Cruz is on vacation with a $30 K free ride and more from his pals from globalist international banking.

“Not good.”

Only terminally butthurt Cruzlims would feel that way.

Ted Cruz deserves nothing from American voters, and especially Texans, who trusted him to go to Washington to represent our interests - not use his Senate seat as a springboard to the White House in his FIRST term.

It actually tickles me that voters would choose a known RINO over that puke.

ACK!

I definitely do not miss being lectured by this friggin' person at all.

I cannot even believe that someone would actually be so stupid as to pick her as their running mate.

There is a reason why NO ONE voted for this person, Tead.

Cruz will win Texas with no problem and I doubt very much that Perry will run for the Senate after being Governor of Texas for so long.

Why does the theme song for “The Wicked Witch” from The Wizard of Oz come into my mind whenever I see her picture?

Whole lot rather see Perry wait and run against career politician Cornyn who could retire in style with four different taxpayer funded retirement plans.

“Cruz has damaged himself but he is a true conservative.”

Ted voted to end debate on the TPA vote last year. That ensured its passage, which then opened the door to TPP, the most egregious sell-out of American sovereignty in our history., and a surefire death warrant for this country, if passed.

It’s not possible to describe anyone who aided and abetted the forward motion of TPP as anything other than an abject, globalist traitor.

Ted Cruz’s vaunted “conservatism” is a complete myth. He’s an establishment flunky who serves the same masters Obama does.

And none of us should ever forget that Cruz blamed Trump
for the left’s successful attempt to deny him (Trump)
the right to speak in Chicago.

“We need Cruz in the senate.”

Why? He’s a globalist sell-out who voted last year to end debate on TPA, a necessary precursor to eventual passage of the treasonous TPP.

After doing that, he co-authored a Wall Street Journal op-ed with Paul Ryan, extolling the ‘virtues’ of the TPP.

Cruz is a complete worm, who’s managed to fool millions of trusting conservatives that he’s one of us. Nothing could be further from the truth. He’s a total fraud.
