Wonder who would be AG?
It doesn’t follow at all. In fact, a president’s closest advisors usually are NOT cabinet officers. For instance, Flynn might be more likely to be selected as National Security Advisor (who serves in the White House not the Pentagon) and Christie might be more likely to be in the White House as either Chief of Staff or as a “Senior Advisor” type behind the scenes.
I say “might” because we just don’t know. From the fact that Flynn and Christie were included we can infer that they are likely to receive some key appointment in a Trump admin. but not necessarily Defense or State.
I would hope the CEO in Trump will start asking the briefers questions that will steer them into the areas to be reported on. And since he will know the briefers will also be debriefed by Obama officials. He should bait them with odd comments to throw off everyone.
Christie will be either AG or head of DHS.
Christie as Sec State?? No foreign policy bonafides. Might be better targeted as Homeland Security Sec - would justify his presence...
Some said they were just there to make sure the intel was legit.
I see Christie in Homeland and Flynn as presidents national security advisor
“I surmised yesterday on a thread that Flynn’s presence there signalled he has been chosen for SecDef, and that Christie would be SecState?”
Looks like Christie will head up the transition team. Thinking he might wind up as Chief of Staff, although I think Newt would be better. If that is the case, Guiliani will be AG.
I was also thinking it appears Flynn would get DOD. Maybe Christie at AG or DHS. He does not have the personality for SOS.
