I think he tried an intervention, got Trump to endorse Ryan (which happened right after the rumor about the intervention) and then Trump just decided he had had enough of Manafort

I didn’t realize that. Interesting he was part of Dole’s losing effort.

Wonder if this is over his “demotion” or the constant Ukraine hit pieces the media has been pumping out.

More fodder for the tv punditry to tear down Trump campaign, and it will last the whole weekend.

Will Manafort end up being hired by CNN or MSNBC?

Especially if he got all that money from Ukraine that they say he did.

The MSM will be wetting themselves all day today, and most of the week-end, over this.

i dont know, but I bet Manafort was becoming a tool for the establishment. That establishment republicans were trying to control Trump through Manafort. Trump had enough... I wonder if Manafort got Trump to back off from Kahn and also from Obama founding ISIS. Both Trump needed to keep going because they were winning moves.

Yep. Manafort worked to get Trump to play nice with the GOPe and in return the GOPe stabbed Trump in the back. Trump does not cotton to bad advice so he brought in people to move him back to what was successful. At that point Manafort became the third wheel and the writing was on the wall. Actually surprised it took him this long to bail.

All I know is the campaign itself is much more focused on the message and Trump does not appear to be stepping in it since Detroit and I think that is a good thing. I also think this Ukraine issue was another item that could in the future rear its ugly head n some way. So maybe this is a good thing. As long as DT keeps doing what he has been the last few days, I think his message will get out over the noise and force the media to cover other issues ... like maybe the scandals on the other side?

Part of this was the demotion. But I think a much larger part is that once word of his meddling as a consultant in the Russian/Ukraine thing came out, it was going to soon be all Manafort all of the time.

This removes that before it even starts. And the campaign is OBVIOUSLY in great hands with Kelly and Steve.

doesn’t sound like good news to me

Manafort defeated the Cruz and nevertrump effort to subvert the convention and the delegates and helped Trump secure the nomination

I suspect there may be a similar move by the establishment (democrat and GOPe) to subvert the electoral vote regardless of the popular vote
