My experience was when they knew we were coming they were very helpful. At one point we were given instructions on a special parking place at back of building next to a door. Everyone else had to go through security. A very sweet young female officer wanded dad, talked to him about his military service and just made him feel very special. I was so appreciative. It was a wonderful day for him. One we both treasured.

"You don't really like Trump" people have asked me -

I hear this all the time. It is pointless to argue. People like who they like and dislike who they dislike. It is pointless to tell them who they should like or dislike. Instead, I ask what they would think if someone else adopted and promoted Trump's ideas. I hear positive responses, saying they could vote for other Republicans articulating Trump's ideas (Bush, Rubio, Kasich, etc.), even someone saying Hillary should incorporate Trump's ideas. The opposition is all personal. I suggest ignoring the personalities of Clinton and Trump and just focusing on their ideas. Trump has ideas that represent real change. Clinton has no new ideas, just a continuation of the Obama administration.

Personally I think if someone else came up with Trumps ideas it would not be the same, Trump has a way of saying them and his past makes him believable and Hillary or Bush saying them would not carry the same weight, just my way of looking at it I guess.

What a wonderful experience for both you and your father.

Once in a while I drive my husband to one of the military bases in our area. Often times the guards at the gate will salute my husband and thank him for his many years of service. I'm thankful he remembers some things about that time in his life.

I will make some telephone calls on Monday morning to see if there are any special arrangements made for those with special needs.

I’m only speaking of those people who do not want to vote for Trump or Clinton; their opposition to Trump is viscerally personal; emotional; it is not rational. It can only be overcome if they separate his ideas from his person. They are not going to like him in the next 10 weeks. They may vote for him if they can suppress their emotions and rationally compare his ideas with Clinton’s.

Jane, is your area expecting any of the major rain? I just read those living in/near New Braunfels need to make plans now to leave low lying waterfront areas. 10-15 inches of rain overnight!

I want to give a very personal account of what happened yesterday here in Baton Rouge....my family is very involved in relief efforts here and know personally 50 families that have total loss to their homes and vehicles....truly overwhelming circumstances for these folks....one woman working at a flood relief facility that we are involved with, finally got fed up with no help from media, Obama, etc and stated

"I'm calling Mr Trump.....

he does not know or understand what is going on here in Louisiana"...she then called Donald Trumps office in New York and began talking with someone on the phone, started crying and pleading for help and the lady at Mr Trump's organization started crying with her and assured her that when she got off the phone, she would go to Donald, Jr or Eric to let them know the seriousness of what's going on.

Within a couple of hours, everyone started hearing that Mr Trump was coming to Louisiana......now, we don't know if our friend's phone call prompted the visit, but she is telling everyone about how caring and concerned the Trump organization was and sensitive to her call......just wanted to share..

Knowing the compassion the Trump family has for those in need, I bet that tractor trailer was being filled not long after the telephone call! Trump made the detour from his planned schedule for all the right reasons, and he asked for no photos or publicity from his team. Praying for Donald Trump and his family.
