Agree. Sometimes things happen to fast before you realize that would be the thing to do. Plus, she probably would be charged for assault. Crazy times we live in. :-(
If the cops show up, you tell them "They yelled at me and startled me. When I turned to face them I had the pump in my hand and didn't realize it. I'm really sorry and hope they are going to be OK."
Which would work somewhat better if you weren't standing there with a lighter in your hand, LOL.
