” BECAUSE NeverTrumpers are a small fraction in every respect of the totality of the campaign”

That is not actually true. Early on there were a lot of them. Some just took longer to change their minds. Go back a year and see how many on this site thought Trump was a bad idea. I still don’t think he is a good idea. However if the choice is him or the hildabeast then it is an easy choice. Lots of people WERE in the never trump camp but came around when the choices got fewer and fewer. Don’t be fooled by all the ‘rah rah’ today. Saying someone is the best thing to happen to politics in a long time is not really a compliment. That just means you are the shiniest turd in the sewer.

You missed the point which is that Hewitt is touting his prowess for turning a nevertrump to a trump.

The convention in Cleveland proved conclusively that the nevertrump movement had no influence and was more of a media creation to foment antitrump hysteria than an actual movement in and of itself.

A year ago there was opposition because Romney and Bush morons thought they controlled the puppet strings. They were wrong.

But a year later, after the convention, Hewitt does his self-congratulating over something which is inconsequential.

He’s trying to remain relevant.

He did a good job explaining about Breyer’s fallacious thinking which extends to the liberal mindset in general.

But to be relevant to today, and nevertrump is no longer relevant to today, he should be talking about the here and now which is Trump’s drawing attention to the fact that African-Americans are losers under the democrats, that Hillary has been immersed in criminal pay-for-play and so on.

But Hewitt is more focused on Hewitt than relevant newsworthy presentations of TODAY. THAT IS THE POINT.
