University To Students: You’re a Criminal If You Don’t Use Transgender Approved Language
Breitbart ^ | 22 Aug 2016 | Dr. Susan Berry

Posted on 08/24/2016 6:49:34 AM PDT by detective

West Virginia University (WVU) has told its 29,000 students that they are breaking federal law if don’t agree to use the pronouns — including ‘he’ or ‘she,’ ‘zir’ or ‘hir’ etc. — preferred by each person who claims to be transgender.

That policy means if a biological man — for example, famous transgender athlete Bruce Jenner — says he “identifies” his gender as female, then all other students must refer to the man as a “she,” or else be treated as a law-breaker.

Now with paragraphs:

-------------------------

Clear violation of the 1st Amendment.

Title 42, Section 1983 of the US Code says:

"Every person who, under color of any statute, ordinance, regulation, custom, or usage, of any State or Territory or the District of Columbia, subjects, or causes to be subjected, any citizen of the United States or other person within the jurisdiction thereof to the deprivation of any rights, privileges, or immunities secured by the Constitution and laws, shall be liable to the party injured in an action at law, suit in equity, or other proper proceeding for redress, except that in any action brought against a judicial officer for an act or omission taken in such officer’s judicial capacity, injunctive relief shall not be granted unless a declaratory decree was violated or declaratory relief was unavailable. For the purposes of this section, any Act of Congress applicable exclusively to the District of Columbia shall be considered to be a statute of the District of Columbia. (R.S. § 1979; Pub. L. 96–170, § 1, Dec. 29, 1979, 93 Stat. 1284; Pub. L. 104–317, title III, § 309(c), Oct. 19, 1996, 110 Stat. 3853.)"

I can't wait for the lawsuits.

West Virginia University (WVU) should be closed and the students sent home.

Sexual identity confusion is a treatable mental disorder. If WVU cannot figure that out and act accordingly, should it not be shut down?

The left is trying to obliterate all distinctions between male and female.

Where are all the feminist?

Will the universities now remove Womyns Studies from the curriculum?

Realize, though, it will take more than one lawsuit.

This is something that the Left knows but the Right does not. In order to move public perception you need to repeat a new idea over and over again. When the Left looses on any issue they do not hear "no" but "not yet." For our Conservative "leaders" once we loose on an issue they give up and say the issue is settled and we need to move on.

My thoughts exactly. Did I oversleep yesterday and miss the new federal law taking away the First Amendment? Ih, it was an Obama Executive Order.
WVU is ripe for a lawsuit or six.

The number of legitimate institutions of higher learning you could probably count on one hand these days. It’s that bad.

My son just started a welding course at a community college. They made him fill out a sexual harassment form. I only heard a little of what was on it but it sounded like they wanted you to say that you were "comfortable" with all manner of sexual perversion. I suspect that if he didn't answer right there would be problems. Eventually they will use less ambiguous terminology than "comfortable" which is fairly meaningless. We know Christians can't be CEO's or Deans or professors or military officers or politicians BUT WELDING!

I looked at the chart of new personal pronouns and possessive adjectives. Is there a root in the English language for any of this? None that I can see. Just the work of twisted sociopaths. I’ll be damned if I would use any of it. Sue me. Fire me. Arrest me. I don’t care.

The federal government has already put itself in the place of God by legalizing and advocating abortion and homosexual marriage. It has also taken on the role of the adversary of the people and of what is good and right. It has the will and means to force its way on everyone. If we still lived in the days of fire and brimstone raining down from heaven, Washington would be a prime candidate for obliteration.

Wow. I’d like to see that form. I wonder if, like so many other such things nowadays, it has some legal purpose, such as to shield the college from a lawsuit if a situation arises.

I assume once they correct you and you apologize, then the next time you make the mistake, they can... uhhh, get you fined or fired?

Congress shall make no law ... or abridging the freedom of speech, ...
Any federal law governing the use of pronouns preferred by "gender identity" would be a prima facie violation of the First Amendment.

I think they are all run by Aleister Crowley.

Crowley is practically a saint, compared to some of the evil lunacy coming from the modern Left.

I would too but at the time I was pre-occupied and couldn't get a word in edgewise. I just now remembered the incident. Legal defense is a very strong possibility. If a tranny actually makes an issue of terminology used on IT, we'll just have to see what the courts decide. If it were me I'd shun said tranny so there'd be no issue with terminology.

You could become quite rich from the 1st Amendment lawsuit you could pursue.

And that needs to happen quickly...the precedents it would set if you could be imprisoned for using "conventional" language...

LOL.... liberals are insane. Nosuch things as transgender. People can cross-dress, but changing gender would require changing chromosomes.

“My name is Tou and my pronouns are he and him. What about you?”

I teach evening English as a Second Language classes for a community college. Last evening we had our yearly in-service meeting. The person from the college who handles all the gender stuff gave a presentation, and she recommended we do the "I am _____ and my pronouns are..." as a way of welcoming those who are not traditionally-gendered. Mind you -- this is an ESL class and most likely none of the students would get what I meant. They would also probably abandon the study of English altogether if I ever introduced the new "pronouns." English presents its own set of natural challenges without adding those. She also said to avoid calling roll the first week when taking attendance because we might have students who no longer "identify" with the name on the list. So if I have a Jose on the list and Jose now identifies as Maria, I might wind up "outing" Jose and create an uncomfortable situation for Jose if I called Jose's name. (Notice how I have avoided the use of all pronouns here.) In all my years of teaching, I have had hundreds of students and never once have I run into this situation.

The problem is at the administrator level. They’re all covering their asses rather than thinking things through.
