I’m pretty sure the illegals that live within 1 square mile of the expo center cost us taxpayers more in 1 day than this entire event.

This idiot should find out what Obama’s “date night” with Michelle cost NYC a few years ago.

This author must have been in a coma in recent years-—many celebrity visits cost the cities money. They have always cost money.

This Trump fellow sure is a pain in the ass, isn’t he? I mean he disrespects women and terrorists, he calls people names and tells them to go home to mommy, he stiffs his help and causes cities and towns a bunch of expensive headaches.

We so wish November would come quickly so he can lose and go back to his bricklaying. Thank Gaia that Hillary is leading by triple digits in every poll in every country.

How’s that for the democrat mindset?

I live outside Austin. We have had visits from Barak Obama, Hillary Clinton, Joseph Biden, and numerous Department Secretaries in the past few months. This is the first story I have seen about the cost of police protection for any of those dignitaries.

Memo to Chie fArt Acevedo: The taxpayers of Austin and of the State of Texas and of the United States have already paid for the protection provided by the APD.

Could the real reason for this story be that if Donald Trump is elected be that he would end aid to so-called “sanctuary cities” like Austin?

Me again.:)

In the 2012 article...
‘He recalled a visit to Austin in 2008 as the last time he could walk around as a normal guy, without creating a big stir.”

Ancillary. The main reason is that he is Trump and the liberal enemedia has a hit piece mission to accomplish.

Just to let you all know, Trump pays the officers wages while protecting him, the SS is paid for by the Government, his own private protection is paid by Trump Company...as is the Venues he uses for his speeches and rallies, which comes out of his PERSONAL campaign money...

The money he raises for the RNC are for the ‘down ticket’ people...he is still financing his ‘own’ campaign, venues and officers wages while he is there...

Now, if you want to compare, why doesn't Hillary do that? She is selling our America to foreign countries for as much money as she can get out of it, why didn't the rest of the candidates run on their ‘own’ money...no they had to ‘kiss butt’ to get their time in the news...

The people that want Globalism, CRF, TTP, H1Visa, New World Order, U.N. Military, One World Money, are all for telling us AMERICANS that are RUNNING this election how bad Trump is, how about letting us know when Hillary paid a town when she was running against Barky, has she paid it off yet???? NO??? Why not, how long does it take to get money for selling China our most sacred secrets????

How about when the prez decides to fly to New York to see a Broadway show or out to California for some movie star’s dinner party or to Martha’s Vineyard to play golf?

The latest media narrative: Clinton goes nowhere because of her respect for the finances of the towns and cities, those same towns and cities that are going bankrupt due to the insensitive visits of Trump.

At this point the MSM are huddled around the morning coffee machines and latching onto any crazy idea that pops into their puny minds. “I know this sounds crazy, but what if we run a story about how Trump is bankrupting the cities he’s visiting”.

According to Randle Jackson, Exposition Center Division Manager, “Rental of the Travis County Exposition Center was paid for, in full, by Trump for President, Inc. The contract sum for the entire facility, which included all of the grounds, was $19,650.00.”

Trump probably settled that bill from the money clip in his pants pocket.

Acevedo is just another Liberal Democrat, gun grabber. December 5, 2014 | Daisy Luther | The Daily Sheeple | 165 views

Everything is bigger in Texas, even the stupidity and outright unConstitutional behavior of a certain government official.

Let’s all say a big hello to Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo, who certainly must have studied the sentiments of anti-freedom gun haters like Michael Bloomberg, (You know, the mayor of…well, nowhere.) He really likes to hear himself speak, but he should probably just stop. Seriously. Pretty much every time he opens his mouth, Acevedo puts his jackboot in it, but this one has particularly offended about 90% of the population of Texas (along with everyone else who is a fan of freedom.)

After Larry McQuilliams went on a shooting rampage in downtown Austin last week, Acevedo took the opportunity to dole out this little gem of advice to Texans:

“Folks, let me tell you what keeps me up at night, it’s these guys. It’s these homegrown extremists that are lone wolves, that are mad at the world, that are angry. And that’s why it’s important for us as Americans to know our neighbors, know our families. Tell somebody. If you know somebody that’s acting with a lot of hatred towards a particular group especially if you know somebody who’s a gun enthusiast or they’re armed with this type of fire arms and they’re showing any type of propensity for hatred, doesn’t mean that we’re going to go and take them to jail, but we might want to vet these people. He may well be alive today had we had the opportunity to do that.”

As a life long Austin area resident, I can state with some accuracy that Austin and TRAVIS COUNTY Government, almost ALL radical liberals from the top down, spill that much money by the hour every day 365 days a year and 366 days in a leap year.

So, this comment by LIBERALS at KXAN is belly busting laughable.

A one liner, AND JUST ONE EXAMPLE of the “spillage”, is that with 407,000 fewer people than Dallas, AUSTIN GOVERNMENT (excluding Travis County Government) has 13,889 employees to Dallas’s 13,077 even though Dallas has the aforestated 407,000 more people to take care of. (source: Texas Tribune)

So, whiny, snarky little liberal KXAN reporters should commence whining, indeed screaming and yelling, about what a boat load of dollars an extra 5,000 government employees cost the City of Austin taxpayer rather than a few bucks ONE NIGHT to protect Trump ONE NIGHT and ONE TIME from Austin crazies.

Has the Austin media ever complained about costs when Obama has visited?

Doubt it.

Nope, they were downright giddy:
President Obama Austin visit

President Barack Obama is greeted by Austin, Texas Mayor Steve Adler on the tarmac upon his arrival on Air Force One, Friday, March 11, 2016, at Austin Bergstrom International Airport in Austin, Texas. Obama traveled to Austin, to speak at South by Southwest Festival (SXSW) and attend 2 Democratic National Committee fundraisers.

AUSTIN (KXAN) — President Barack Obama has arrived in Austin to give his key note speech kicking off the first day of South by Southwest for the nine day interactive event.

Obama was greeted on the Tarmac by Austin Mayor Steve Adler. The two leaders shook hands before Obama departed in the motorcaid heading to the Long Center for his speech. The President is expected to discuss the future of jobs in the technology

Lots of giddy Austin-style Obama-worshipping photos (including one of Wil I Am at an Obama rally!) at the site - if you can stomach it.

When Trump is president, the Austin media will complain about the costs all over again, should he ever visit.

It’s how they roll.

With the millions Obama spends on vacations, they’re worried about the little cost to Austin. Wow.

I am certain we will never hear about the cost to protect Hillary at the same venues.

I'm pretty sure of that as well. I don't recall anyone moaning about the cost when bambi or her heinous have visited.
