Daily Caller News Foundation Homeschool Advocate: US Gov’t Bullies Parents And Kids Into Common Core [VIDEO] Ginni Thomas Contributor

10:24 PM 08/27/2016

As parents increasingly notice government schools indoctrinate children with secular or progressive values, more families are exploring homeschooling as “a freedom initiative” to maintain control over values and beliefs.

Sam Sorbo is a passionate, dedicated homeschooling mom of three and talk radio host. Often on Fox News, Sorbo is an actress, former model and biomedical engineer from Duke University, who is married to actor Kevin Sorbo of “Hercules” fame. She is also the author of recent book “They’re Your Kids.”

Mandated government schools are failing us, she argues, and are doing more harm than good. It is time for parents to act. Sorbo wants more parents to find the joys of homeschooling their own children out of an abundance of caution for what the school system is doing wrong.

Sorbo says the head of the United Federation of Teachers, Michael Mulgrew, was “bullying” when he stated, “I will punch you in the face and shove you on the ground if you try to take away my Common Core” to teacher applause.

Sorbo also talks about the national discussion on transgender bathrooms forced by the federal government, and reminds us the perversion prescribed for public schools is stated as a communist goal in the Congressional Record.

Sorbo wants parents to “be a hero to your kids.” She realized how beneficial homeschooling was when she tried it while her husband was on a movie shoot, according to this video interview for The Daily Caller News Foundation. She, like other parents, overcame self-doubt and realized “our self-doubt has been instilled in us by the school system.”

Her book starts with a Bertrand Russell quote about public schools being a means of destroying students’ free will, preparing them for servitude. Many students, instead of learning the U.S. Constitution protects God-given natural rights, she says, are learning about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as conceived by the United Nations in 1948.

"Sorbo is “offended” by the Republican Congress, the “wet noodle party,” as they do not confront the fundamental transformation of the nation. Referring to the Republicans, she says, “no conflict means capitulation” in her book."

There are free online high school courses that are accredited and frankly I wish I had known about this as a teen.

The Republican party was instrumental in bringing “Common Core” to the schools.

Common Core: From Farce to Failure (Video)

November 11, 2015 By Shane Vander Hart

I wanted to highlight an other resource released late last month by Freedom Project Education. Dr. Duke Pesta who has been going around the country speaking out against Common Core has a new presentation entitled Common Core: From Farce to Failure.

You can watch below:

... “instead of learning that the US Constitution doesn’t delegate any power for federal involvement in education among the several States” is certainly not something taught either.

“I will punch you in the face and shove you on the ground if you try to take away my Common Core” to teacher applause."

I wish I'd been there. All 6-3, 275 lbs of me would have loved to walk right up to him and say "I hate Common Core. I'm your huckleberry."

Then watch him pi** his pants.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho! God Bless Texas!

Pesta is a fantastic speaker!
It really should be called UNESCO ED it is so loaded with one world indoctrination that Common Core fails to get to the Core of what this is all about.
TY Common Core it was the final push I needed to get my son out and after 1 year of me deciding what to teach then I put him in a Classical Christian model where the child has two campus days per week and a weekly syllabus to follow. Very university-like. This operation has some faculty from Houston Baptist University (philosophy dept) and the directors are Rice alumni. My son is loving it but has a lot of reading and many assignments to keep up with.

You know what I like best about my homeschooled adult teen? I feel that he is the best HIM he could be. Nothing from a bad social school experience thwarted him. He wasn’t buffetted and shaped by bad teachers and ignorant kids (like I was). He got ideas and ran with them. He is outwardly a bit shy, but inside he has an inner confidence and does things the good way, but HIS way. He is very comfortable within his skin. And his childhood peers were his teammates. They practiced together every day. Some of them are among his groups of friends to this day. I have no regrets homeschooling him.

Also - when he got sick of high school, he moved to community college. Boom. In CA it is legal even without a “high school graduation,” which has become worthless anyway.

The US Dept. of Education has nothing to do with education.

It has everything to do with politics

It must be eliminated.

When and if Hillary is made President there will be hundreds of new Government Departments created.

United States Department of Education

Recreated by the Department of Education Organization Act (Public Law 96-88) and signed into law by President Jimmy Carter on October 17, 1979, it began operating on May 4, 1980.

I think that if kids took high school courses online, it would make things a lot easier for everyone. Black kids who want to excel will avoid bullying by their less ambitious peers and frankly, kids who would otherwise be outcasts will be able to study and pursue interests without developing alienation.

“Sorbo says the head of the United Federation of Teachers, Michael Mulgrew, was “bullying” when he stated, “I will punch you in the face and shove you on the ground if you try to take away my Common Core” to teacher applause. “

I know, I know, those are OTHER TEACHERS cheering him on, not the teachers that MY CHILDREN have. No, they must be the ones down the highway, at that ‘other school’. The teachers that MY CHILDREN have are much better and really want my kids to learn, and would ‘never’ act that way. Nope, never. It must be OTHER TEACHERS. Yep, that’s it.

(typical reaction by conservatives that still send their kids to public school)
