Senate Judiciary Chairman Charles E. Grassley signaled that he is open to possibly acting on President Barack Obama's Supreme Court nominee after the November elections.

Republican leaders have pledged not to take up the nomination of Judge Merrick Garland, though a few senators have raised the possibility of a hearing or confirmation vote during a lame duck session between Election Day and when the new Congress is seated in January.

That’s not the point. What happened to NO hearings/vote? He’s moving the goal posts. We’ve gone from absolutely no hearings to maybe hearings after the election. Now we are only a short walk from hearings/vote BEFORE the election. I’m sure McConnell will justify a vote on Garland as trying to keep the Senate. He’ll probably even blame Trump for it.

If Trump loses in November, the Republicans would be insane not to try to confirm Garland. He would be very bad, but any of Hillary’s nominees are bound to be far, far worse.

Of course, the smart time to discuss this would be after the election in November. Not now.

Who exactly is 'we'? The Senate isn't ours to lose, just consider these two facts:
1) the Omnibus bill that funded, well, everything, AND
2) the Iran Deal (which is provably Treason), as defined by the Constitution.

The first is relevant because of all the promises that the Republican party made regarding the Affordable Care Act (ACA, aka ObamaCare) — the second is proof not only of their faithlessness to the voters WRT the ACA, but active betrayal of not just the voting citizenry, but all citizens.
