Biblical is not Koranic or vice versa. Jehovah is not Allah.
However, if you would like to discuss a COMPARISON between the two systems, feel free.
There are many, many low things in the world.
In order to try to understand it, we need answers to questions such as: How did the world come to be? Why are people passing through the world?
The only real cure to the low woes of the world, whatever they might be (and there is no way to compare Jane’s low woe to John’s, it is like trying to compare an apple to an orange) is the love of God and that can only come by invitation. And in discovering the need to invite it, we discover that we have been opposing it and learn to stop doing that.
What to us seems a situation of unspeakable cruelty may, in fact, be the only opportunity for us to willingly yield to kindness from its ultimate Source. C. S. Lewis attempted to argue for the same in his famous work “The Problem Of Pain.”
I really would dare you to compare the texts of the bible and of the Koran. Look in both cases for descriptions of the circumstances in which the deity described bestows love.
Bible: “With an everlasting love I have loved you.” “God does not willingly grieve the sons of men.” (Old Testament) “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son [to die on a cross for your sins] that whosoever believes on Him shall not perish, but be saved.” (New Testament)
Koran: Allah loves those who work vengeance in his name.

Keep in mind that, although in Biblical times girls were eligible for marriage at puberty, that the marriages were generally ARRANGED by the PARENTS. A young girl would NOT be given that level of responsibility.
At minimum, up until the last century or so, the suitor would generally have to ask the FATHER for permission to court the girl, which would only be given if the father decided the suitor was suitable as a potential husband.
Yes, it was a family and social event; the person wasn’t just turned loose with a “good luck.”
NONETHELESS, if a sexual violation during this phase of life occurred (which would of course be outside of parental consent) this was not a “pedophilia.” If both were single, the man would be punished but not by death, and then be expected to support the woman for life.
And “women’s liberation” shucked off the customary obligation of men to support women when it was possible. Women called this freedom. But thereby they wished on themselves a whole new set of burdens they would never have had to face otherwise.
Jared is, in a way, being egalitarian... face it, sweethearts, you can’t claim chivalry and egalitarianism in the same breath.
I suppose our ageism, with a prolonged youth, is the new egalitarian substitute for “sexism.” But we really never left the idea of an umbrella — we only chose a different umbrella than the one the Lord recommended. Is ours the best umbrella? I would say there are powerful arguments that it is not.
