Fat people should be left alone

Actually they should be charged double at buffets too.

Actually obese people live longer than the underweight, statistically.

Any kind of rationalizations are preferable to the simple concept of changing one's lifestyle and losing weight.

It is a simple fact that most obese outlive must underweight. Why would you call that a rationalization? It is better to be obese than underweight. Ideally I suppose though it is best to be in the ideal weight range.

But the NHS does not seem to acknowledge this in its Brave New World policy

There is a reason why some statistics say obese outlive the underweight.

Many of those underweight folks used to be obese. But then they got cancer and by the time they died they were underweight.

To avoid cancer and other wasting diseases it’s best to stay normal weight and active. If you’re sedentary you’re at risk.

I have known naturally thin people who can easily eat double what I do. And, no I do not try to out eat them! In fact, I do not eat at a buffet because I would not eat enough to justify the cost.
I am not sure why you have such issues with those who are overweight but, have it. Being so judgemental says more about you than my weight says about me.

How about morbidly obese vs normal? What are the stats on that?

I do not eat at a buffet...

Then you wouldn't have to worry about paying the buffet premium.

Isn’t this the “public option” that 0 wants?

Already at many ORTHO’s in the USA now, if you have knees that need to be replaced because of your weight. I know one of the largest Ortho clinics in Memphis will NOT replace knees of patients 100 lbs over weight. They make them lose weight first or no new knee. Surgery is generally a failure otherwise. As being to much overweight puts to much strain on joints.

That was actually my thought behind posting. Little sympathy going forward for “you have done this to yourself” cases, ergo fewer approvals. Doctors are happy to do the work, but the issue for them is the reimbursement rate. It’s coming to the US, like it or not.

Yes, a beautiful young woman I knew couldn’t beat the chemo effects, if only she’d had a few more pounds, perhaps?

It’s like with the pain meds, they are punishing ALL of us who have diseases with chronic pain for the bad choices of a few. Now we are treated like JUNKIES. When all we want is enough pain relief to be able to function at a semi normal level. Like clean our own homes or even get out of bed in the morning.

Pain Management doc, found out real quick how fast I can react to Lyrica or Neurontin is generic for gabapentin, after 2 ER trips. Said they were sold a Bill of Goods on Lyrica as 50% of his patients couldn’t take the horrid side effects.

He put me on two 10 mg Valium 7 yrs ago for Fibromyalgia pain, never had an increase, now need one as pain gets worse, can’t get one. Both the other drugs are WAY MORE ADDICTIVE and have horrible side effects. I can stop the Valium on a dime if I want level 10 muscle pain and a fogged up mind. Because FMS comes with what is called Fibro Fog. It effects more than just your main muscles, it gets ALL muscles including those in your eyes. As does my being Hypo-Thyroid effect the eyes. I’m border line Type 2 Diabetic because I can’t digest FIBER so can’t eat fruits or veggies, and I’m not eating YUCKY baby food. I watch every thing I eat like a Hawk, I have to or end up in the ER with a Gastropresis Flare attack. And nutritionist don’t know how to marry the 2 diets.

Breakfast is a peanut butter sandwich, supper will be a half bake/half cup of mashed potato/pasta, and a easy to chew to mush protein with water as a drink or no sugar tea. 6 ravioli will send my sugar to 165 in the morning.
