I agree. I’d also like to see some of those funds help to pay back what these folks have been stripping from our tax receipts.

“Mexico bans foreigners from buying property in their country.”

Along the coastline that’s certainly true. I’m not sure that that’s the case in the interior.

Mexican law states that the State of Mexico own all lands. As corrupt as Mexico is, there is no such thing as owning land.

That said, neither is owning land a guarantee in the USA now that the USSC declared that eminent domain means the government can take your land for any reason they see fit.

You and me both. The drain on Californians has been huge.

But Obama and the Bush Republicans have been more than happy to make us pay for Mexico’s poor, it makes them feel so very generous.

Our money and our neighborhoods are a small price to pay as they replace Americans with compliant and obedient 3rd worlders.

Obama and his merry band of America haters know what they are doing as they diminish the percentage of old stock Americans in the population. The Bush Republicans are either secretly cut from the same cloth or they are too stupid to know what the end game is going to be.

They’re pure and simple EVIL.

They would willingly destroy this nation rather than implement sane rational policy.

Bush is just sorry his 2008 Economic Meltdown didn’t finish the job.

He had eight years to implement a sane fix to the lending industry massive blowout headed our way.

Eh, too busy...

I don’t think Bush was bright enough to have planned it despite his MBA degree. He never demonstrated any skill in the business world that wasn’t due to his family name.

He believed all that empty headed malarkey about house prices never going down and being an endless source of wealth.

“In cases where the property/assets of [our] fellow citizens or companies are affected by a foreign government, as President Nieto has threatened, the American government should proportionally expropriate assets and properties of foreigners from that country on our territory,”

Two can play that game but it’s like tic-tac-toe
there are no real winners unless you’re playing with
a dunce like Obama.

I agree that he didn’t plan it. The Democrats were the driving force behind it. None the less, the Republicans didn’t do anything to correct the problem. Bush had plenty of time to do it, and his party was the majority party part of his terms in office.

He may have bought off on the idea you can’t lose money in real estate holdings. Ah, yes you can.

I agree also that his jobs were due to his daddy exerting some influence.

I’m not sure if he ever had a real job. Speech therapy would probably have been a prerequisite for that.

Only Congress can pass new taxes. However a jillion, Do Nothing, alphabet Govt agencies already exist. EPA, NRA, NTA, DOT etc can all be easily justified to budget wall building.

A wall is an EPA environmental issue, a NRA gun issue, NTA education issue, DOT transportation issue, plus hundreds more ... ALL LEGAL!

Send their employees south and build. If Congress denies Trump’s payment method then Congress gets the blame.

But Wall Building can begin legally day one inauguration.

LOL! America has a lot of nerve getting uppity with the Great Mexican Nation.

All those US companies that moved to Mexico - citizens of the world - are going to wake up to the fact that “the world” is not a Nation and they have no rights in third world foreign nations. Cheap labor can turn expensive at the drop of a hat.

China will react the same way if the US gets uppity with their shakedown scheme.

The tax on remittances doesn’t have to be nearly that high, it would most likely be a tenth of that.

Many countries tax outgoing money flows, particularly if they could possibly be related to income. Often the rates are pretty steep, close to 20% in one case if I recall correctly.

There is no reason not to charge every tax that could apply to an outgoing remittance unless there is proof it isn't a transfer of untaxed income.

I'm no fan of taxes, since they are the fuel for a fire of government growth and overreach, but it would be very simple to discourage employment of illegal immigrants if the employment tax code had higher FICA, FUTA, Medicare, and income tax rates for individuals who were not citizens.

ICE may ignore illegal immigrants, but the IRS is certainly not going to ignore the opportunity to collect additional taxes from businesses that employ non-citizen employees. And no employer would want to get caught having to pay the extra taxes if an audit turned up employees who were not citizens but whose tax was withheld and paid at the citizen's rate.
