A Mexican lawmaker is pushing legislation that would let Mexico's government retaliate against a possible Donald Trump presidency, Reuters reported Friday.
The legislation is designed to counter any attempt from the U.S. government to make Mexico pay for a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border, and gives the Mexican Senate power to disavow international treaties if Mexican national and business interests are threatened by another state.
"In cases where the property/assets of [our] fellow citizens or companies are affected by a foreign government, as Donald Trump has threatened, the Mexican government should proportionally expropriate assets and properties of foreigners from that country on our territory," the preliminary summary of the proposal said.

Good luck with that.
In that case, Western Union remittances to Mexico will immediately be disallowed.
Mexico flails.
What’s next, they will flood America with drugs and underage sex slaves... Mexico already played that card.
Hey Mexico, get that check ready, you are paying for that wall!
Pay up
Mexico jumped the shark, they just don’t know it yet
Sounds like a stupid and dangerous game to play considering that Mexico has a lot more in the United States than we do there.
“expropriate assets and properties of foreigners from that country on our territory”
Mexico meet Zimbabwe. What a great way to chase off all international business and set Mexico back a hundred years. It will hurt them a lot more than us.
all things considered, i like our chances
Trump should EMBARGO ANY MONETARY REMISSIONS via wire transfer to Mexico by US Citizens or ILLEGALS HERE (the predominance) if this putz gets his way.
It has a 1.1 trillion dollar GDP and 1/4 th of that is wire transfers from illegals IMO.
That is exactly what should happen. Cut off the gravy train.
If I were a retiree living in Mexico, I would be reconsidering my place of residence.

Exactly, good luck. Only Mexican citizens are allowed to own property in Mexico and there are not millions of US citizens living in Mexico illegally. Furthermore, if the Mexican government goes after US business interests, those companies will pack up and move somewhere else.
This proposed legislation doesn’t have a leg to stand on or a pot to piss in.
Again, good luck with that Mexico.
This is always a risk when American corporations set up operations in third-world banana states to exploit cheap labor. There’s no such thing as a free lunch.
I’m getting more and more worried for Trumps safety. I mean illary is sick as all hell and could literally fall to pieces any minute. Not so worried about her, everyone can see she’s feeble and unworthy. It’s the bankers and narcos against Trump at this point and that really is a reason to worry. Prayers for his and his family’s safety.
Exactly!
And it will create such an economic mess that the wall will be more necessary than ever.
You know what would stop the U.S. interfering with Mexico...a wall.:)
Otherwise, Mexico fears an invasion of Mexicans coming form their Northern border!
Fine. Just take all your people back and STFU Mexico.
They are afraid.
The mouse screams
