I visited Notre Dame as a teenager in the early 1980s. Even though I did not believe in God at the time, I remember thinking that He surely must exist, because only a Supreme Deity would be capable of inspiring mere mortals to design and construct such a magnificent edifice. That is how profound an effect it had, merely entering that building and looking around.

If Notre Dame is destroyed, it would be a huge loss for our Christian patrimony and our Western culture. The Muslims know this, all too well, which is why they will keep on trying. Is their will to destroy us stronger than our desire to preserve the best of what we are?

How can this be??? Prez bush said this is a “religion of peace”? Surely our “leaders” wouldn’t lie to us.
