Former President Bill Clinton ridiculed Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump for his slogan “Make America Great Again” suggesting that it was a false promise to American voters and racially motivated. “That message, I’ll give you America great again — If you’re a white southerner, you know exactly what it means,” Clinton said.
The former president indicated that Trump’s campaign slogan signaled that he would make white people more culturally dominate over other races in the country.
“What it means is I’ll give you the economy you had 50 years ago and I’ll move you back up the social totem pole and other people down,” Clinton said.
Clinton insisted that Trump was only hurting blue collar workers, suggesting the Republican candidate was only cynically lying to get their votes.
“I get it … that’s my culture,” he said. “And I have watched more working class white people manipulated all my life. People rubbing salt into their wounds instead of bandaging their wounds.”
Clinton also suggested that Trump’s vow to make America great again was a false promise.
“Saying I’d like to Make America Great again is like me saying I’d like to be 20 again,” Clinton said.

I know what it means when I hear MAGA.
I also know what is meant by “Take our country back”.
But, I see this meme on FB a lot, in which the question boils down to ‘when was America great to return to; what period of America’s past are we talking about?’ Any further discussion on this topic almost always devolves to America wasn’t great during that decade because of X, nor this period because of Y. So, basically the socialist schools and the uniparty media complex have successfully drilled into the sponge like minds that America was never great, ever. Therefore it can’t be great again. This is what we are up against. But all patriots everywhere know what this all means. I pray daily they all GOTV and drag their mothers with them.
To combat the meme, we perhaps need, IMHO, a concise way to describe MAGA that sponges will accept. I have yet to find such.

Bigger panic for Slick - that The Donald will convince a sufficient number of American of African descent, that they, too, may be a part of “making America great again”.
After all, this particular demographic of Americans, given the opportunity to excel, has shown they will do just that again and again. Without the wholly artificial crutch of enforced dependency, which is even more crippling than any injury of even severe nature would be, there have been some spectacular successes among Americans of African descent, and not just the chosen few that are given such attention during the month of February.
Nothing to do with skin color. But everything to do with accepting a higher ideal, as embodied in the American Spirit, and applying it in one’s personal life. If this is “thinking white”, then that is a most unfortunate application of propaganda and “dog whistle” race baiting.
This is the guy who had “vivid and painful memories” of Black churches being burned in the Arkansas of his youth.

60 years ago Southern Negroes were moving north to become effectively the next wave of immigrants working their way into the mainstream American economy and society. They were boarding the upwardly mobile train. Then Johnson tore up the tracks and put up a wall and called it the War on Poverty and America let him do it. He pushed them into the ghettos where the Democrats could keep them mostly illiterate and farm them for votes.
