Yes, Comey said it was illegal, and that no one else better try it or they would be prosecuted, but he didn’t know any prosecutors who would prosecute Hillary Clinton.
According to the FBI, Hillary lied twice in one breathe. First,she did send and receive emails with the header intact that signified confidential and top secret messages.
Second, she lied when she said the reports confirmed what she maintained, that she never sent emails marked confidential.
That is why she told the FBI she could not remember about 40 different times.
As SOS, shouldn't she absolutely assume every email or communication she had would be classified?
Did she NEVER have correspondence with the POTUS?
Is she saying that Obama is even stupider than she is?
I am afraid the average person simply can’t understand the severity of this or they just don’t care.
This is ridiculous. It is more severe by a factor of 100 or 1000 from offenses made by other government employees who were prosecuted and received jail time, were fired, and lost their retirement. The fact that she destroyed government records by smashing phones with a hammer clearly shows intent.
There were numerous laws violated here and in my humble opinion the matter should have been referred to a Grand Jury and an independent prosecutor. It is too bad the office of “independent prosecutor” was sullied over the Scooter Libby affair, but if the DOJ believed there was probable cause on Scooter Libby there is simply NO WAY they should not find probable cause with what Hillary did. The allegations against Libby were not 100th as egregious as this scandal. Furthermore, it is standard practice for a federal investigation to explore all potential charges. Despite what Comey stated - it is clear they did not do that with her. He very carefully discussed one statute among several that appear to have been violated.
P.S. - she clearly lied to congress and the FBI on multiple occasions. Martha Stewart was jailed for lying to the FBI once about one material fact.
This email scandal over classified information does not include the obvious appearance of pay to play that occurred during her tenure at the State Department. We cannot sustain a blatant admission in our nation that someone is too big to jail and they are above the law for political expediency. That is what is happening right now and the mainstream media can’t be bothered with “old news”.
I don’t know what Assange is going to release, but anyone who thinks it will change the equation is simply not paying attention. There is more than enough out there already. One thing that goes without saying in all of this - it is quite likely that Obama and his staff exchanged emails with her and that would have also violated the law by sending classified email to a non-government secured server. How much that factored into Comey’s inexplicable statement is something we will likely never know.
She’s also counting on them not knowing that, as number three, in the line of succession, pretty much all of her work product could be construed as classified on that fact alone.
And who the fsck, sends, or receives classified email to/from an email account with .COM on the end of it!?

See post 25. Not all emails are classified, but it would be a safe assumption as Sec of State that you would receive far more classified emails than the average government employee or even cabinet member.
Her actions also violated the Federal Record Keeping Act that MANDATES that government correspondence be retained as government records. Her idea that she would use a private server and this would not apply to her is absurd for anyone not named Clinton. Any communication in the employ of the government for official business is subject to the record keeping requirements. Comey completely ignored this. He also ignored the misdemeanor statute for violating it (a lesser charge) that ironically states that any person convicted of it may not hold another security clearance (i.e. - she would be ineligible to hold any office).

Mainly she had the classified printed out and she read hard copy. I doubt she ever logged into a classified system, that is obviously beneath her.
She now knows all about “headers” and sh*t. They must have had a hell of a time shoving all of that down her throat and hoping that she could “remember” and “recall” it long enough to talk about it with the “media”.
Not really. The part she explained was made simple enough that 17-year olds walking in off the street can understand and be held accountable. She was simply lying previously - and deceiving here by implying there is a nebulous ‘they’ that marks things as classified for her as a naive bystander, when it was part of her duties.

Now we will have Obama on record saying:
A. Of course those emails were classified. The SOS had to know that.
Or, B. I was so reckless myself that I had no idea I was sending classified material to the SOS.
These questions MUST be asked by the press.

No but I would guess the SoS whereabouts are not for open distribution but that is just a guess.
